27/01/2014 - THE END OF RELIGIOUS FOOLISHNESS

For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 1 Corinthians 1:19

The most foolish attitude anyone can make is to be wise according to their own understanding. The omniscient God, the One who created everything, should be the only one to guide His works, and He does that through His own Word. However, many people insist to act according to their own ideas, even though the Holy Spirit speaks to their hearts when they read or listen to the Word. The Lord shall destroy whatever is built apart from His will.

I wonder how many expensive projects will be of no use? And what shall we say of those who consecrated their lives in a religious attitude, and went through much suffering, and in the end will realize that it was all in vain? Jesus said that He could do nothing Himself, if the Father didn’t agree first (Jo 5:30). The revelations the Lord gives us are the works that He is ready to accomplish.

At first, we are tempted to believe that Paul’s declaration refers to the work of scientists and wise men around the world. These men are doing a great job in finding new medicines and new equipment to treat diseases, and also the principles that improve the quality of human being’s lives. It is worth it to say that we, human beings, don’t create anything, instead we just find what the Lord has given us for our own well being and progress.

Regarding the divine work, the devil is causing many people to do whatever they want, instead of looking up to God. These people will be held responsible for the loss and prejudice they cause to others. Those who are used by the devil will have to explain themselves to the Father. Their actions, however, are worthless and will be discarded.

The sons of God should not allow the devil to use them. They should all speak the same language, and run from quarrels (1 Cor. 1:10), which hinder the Lord from operating. The unity of the saved ones will only be obtained if there is respect to the Word of God. The church we go to doesn’t matter; unity should be our goal always. This way, the holy people will take ahead the noble mission that was entrusted to them.

Disagreements exist when people don’t want to be servants. Those who turn preachers into idols are helping the demons to stop the growth of the divine work. If you are somehow linked to anyone who is led by the enemy, break this link right now; if you don’t, you might suffer great prejudice when the Lord destroys the “wisdom of the wise” and brings to nothing the “understanding of the prudent”.
