And do not hide Your face from Your servant, for I am in trouble; Hear me speedily. Psalm 69:17

David felt people’s disdain and also the condemnation that was directed against him. There are moments in our lives when we feel like everyone’s against us. Our only way out is to enter the presence of the Lord and ask Him for directions. The Lord always listens when we do that, because Jesus said that those who are weary and burdened should run to Him (Mt. 11:28), for He would give them rest. Therefore don’t let any problems torture your life.

The Psalmist recognized that his lack of knowledge was causing all the bad things in his life. The same thing happens to all who are being defeated by the enemy. When problems take over the life of a son of God, it shows that this person doesn’t know what the Word declares about these situations, and therefore they don’t make the right decisions. The Lord will always hear you when you pray to Him.

The king needed to see the face of the Lord – and that’s what will set you free. Jesus said that if we know the truth, it shall set us free (Jo. 8:32). So it is necessary to seek the face of God – the revelation of what is written – because through this revelation we will have the necessary power to rebuke all evil from our lives. Ask Him to show you His face, and you will see an end to your problems.

Without knowing your rights in Christ, you will never be victorious, because you will be fighting on your own. The malign one enjoys watching lazy Christians, who don’t read the Bible or pray. There are many sons and daughters of God who spend hours and hours watching TV, reading books, magazines and newspapers; however, they can’t find time to read the Bible. The divine directions are all in the Bible.

When you realize what you are doing wrong and what you should do to take possession of what is already yours, you will pray in a correct manner. David was feeling very anguished because the Scriptures weren’t complete yet back in his days – this happened only after the coming of the Lord. We are extremely privileged today; just by believing in what is said to us, we can rebuke all evil from our lives.

It is correct to ask the Lord to hear us speedily, because our lives pass by very quickly. After all, whatever we don’t do right now will never be done afterwards. To waste time is a loss that will never be recovered. However, don’t rush before deciding anything. Wait for the Lord to speak to you first, and then declare your order with patience.

Be strong and courageous. Run to the Father right now in prayer, and ask Him whatever you need. After that, observe and watch, because He will speak through His Word and you will be set free by the power of His Word.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
