Lord, where are Your former loving kindnesses, which You swore to David in Your truth? Psalm 89.49

The psalmist inquired the Lord concerning the former loving kindnesses that He had sworn to David. As God put this in His Holy Book, He was telling us that these things belong to us and that He has not forgotten them. Whenever you are in need, cry out for them, for the Creator enjoys giving them. The Most High knew what type of people He was choosing when He brought them to His kingdom. For that reason, the Father will not avoid giving these former loving kindnesses.

David knew how to listen to the Lord. This made him become the most important king in Israel, besides guaranteeing protection of his country’s borders, and tributes from the surrounding nations. He was also used as the writer of most of the Psalms. Whoever reads his words will reach the conclusion that he was also a prophet from the Lord. Therefore, David received from God himself the declaration that he was according to His own heart (Ac 13.22).

It is good to know that any person can be inspired on the example left by the son of Jesse, and accomplish with faith and determination everything that the Lord has set for him or her. In every generation, the Most High raises those who should accomplish His work, and those who do so with clean hands, will see that He is truly a Father that worries with those who serve Him in spirit and in truth (Jo 4.23).

The former loving kindnesses of the Lord belong to you today, as they belonged to David in his days. Those who serve Him with all of their hearts will see that there is no partiality in the divine heart. All of those who were accepted in the Kingdom of God are converted, born again, and enabled to enjoy the goodness of the Lord. Therefore, whenever they claim the right in the Body of Christ, they please God.

What is beautiful about this holy writing is that God’s loving kindnesses were given to David. The Lord swore David in His truth, so that He would not have the slightest doubt of that promise. The same thing is done for all of those who receive a word from the Lord. This shows that the Most High wants us to have complete faith when we claim that which belongs to us. If you have been illuminated with any Biblical revelation, claim its fulfillment.

If one day you feel indebted with God, do not feel afraid of entering His presence, for He knew everything about you when He called you to belong to Him. Thus, these loving kindnesses that were sworn to David will serve as a guarantee so that you may also obtain divine favor. Even if you feel unworthy, the Almighty will honor what He has spoken concerning your life and will never abandon you.

In Christ, with love,
