If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words. Isaiah 58:13

Jesus not only spoke about the Sabbath, but He also said that John the Baptist was the Elijah who would come (Matthew 11:13,14). So, we can understand that the day of rest is the period in which we live, for Christ has destroyed the devil´s power. His disciples understood and began to keep the Sunday, when He was resurrected. In the days of the Savior´s earthly ministry, the Pharisees questioned Him why the disciples did not keep the Sabbath and so, they were promptly taught about it.

In the period from the resurrection of the Lord until His second coming, we will have rest from all that the devil did in this world. Now, he has been stripped of his authority, so we can and must live victoriously. When temptations come your way, whether in the body, mind or in other areas of your livfe, you must resist the evil one. Then he will flee from us along with his temptations (James 4:7). Our mission is to proclaim the Truth to all.

Because of the things that happen here, we cannot rise up against the fact that God has left us in this world. After all, we were given power over evil. We are not yet all that we will be in eternity, but we are representatives of the Most High. We have authority to cast out demons and their evils. We are living days where we are to delight ourselves in carrying out the Lord´s purpose.

This time is holy and worthy to honor the heavenly Father. We do this by following His ways, speaking of His love for mankind, of what He has accomplished and wants to fulfill in the life of those who hear the Word and believe it. Thus we will be accepted as true worshipers, who worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Do not change God’s guidance for what men do, because they do not believe in Truth.

The Christian who follows the enemy´s will one day repent for the loss done to him and others. We are commanded to take the Gospel everywhere, preaching the Word directly or indirectly. Our motives cannot be accepted to the detriment of divine guidance. Whoever devotes himself to obey the Lord will never repent. This is so important!

The end for those who follow divine will is to delight in the Most High and enter into a state of contentment. This person adjusted herself to God’s plans, and He was able to fulfill the promise in her life. The outcome of faith must be enjoyed!

The Lord wants you to live on high, far from the low thoughts that lead the lost to defeat. He will sustain you with Jacob´s inheritance; after all, it was God´s mouth that said so. He will fulfill His Word in the life of those who are faithful to Him!
