17/03/2018 - THE IMPORTANCE OF EXALTING THE LORD

The LORD is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Psalm 9.16

One of the men most used by God was David.  While still young, he discovered that the secret of being an instrument in the hands of the Lord was to meditate on the Word.  Accordingly, he began to understand divine will.  After many victories obtained, the Most High led him to write in a simple manner, all that we need to know to become victorious in the battles that we participate.  David was never defeated or even wounded in these fights.  Halleluiah!

As he described his secret, the son of Jesse invited everyone to make the Most High known for his judgment, which is what made him to be victorious.  As long as the Lord does not expand or grow in your interior, you will not have the power to defeat evil.  What does the heavenly Father mean to you?  Would He be unable to solve your problems?  You can always count on the judgment of the Most High for the best directions.

While he is carrying out a mission assigned by God, a Christian can feel prepared to face all of Hell and show that only He, the Lord, is God.  However, he will inevitably be defeated if during some unexpected situation, he relies on something else that comes to his mind. Those that learned with the victorious in the Most High, whose experiences are told in the Bible, should pray until they feel certain of His presence and then enter into battle.

This happened with Elijah that went to live in the house of the widow of Zarephath which belonged to Sidon, the person who had been chosen and ordered to sustain him (1 Kings 17:9). Actually, it was he that sustained and supported her with the Word that the Lord had given him.  Later, the widow’s son had died, and she went to the prophet to complain that he had revealed the sins of her youth, and for this reason her son had died.  Since he did not feel he knew how to handle this event, he prayed to God and the boy then came back to life.  What a lesson!

Amazingly, sometimes the servants of God are caught by surprise through some evil happenings, and because they can’t rid themselves of them, they feel incapable of continuing to serve Him.  In the case we just witnessed, the boy fell to illness, and we don’t know if the mother asked Elijah to pray for him.  However, when worse came to worse, she remembered her sins of her early days, that she felt as she looked at him, as if reminded by divinity, and associated the death to the boy.

Having entered into communion with Him, Elijah stretched himself upon the boy three times, and cried out to God saying:  “O LORD my God, I pray, let this child’s soul come back to him.” (1 Kings 17:21)  His prayer was accepted and conceded.  The boy’s soul entered into him again.  Now, Peter was in Lydda during a mission.  Some men from Joppa asked him to go there, for Tabitha, a disciple had died.  Peter knelt next to the body and prayed, and immediately instructed her to rise, and she obeyed (Acts 9:40).

Every success we achieve through faith has the purpose of exalting the Name of the Lord.  For this reason we have to exalt Him in us by understanding of the

Word and firmness in faith.  There must be a difference between us and the ungodly.  We must not praise God only with our lips, but also in Spirit and in truth. See your son lives, said Elijah. (1 Kings17:23)  What will you do?

In Christ, with Love,

Father!  We have to begin again, every new day.  Our daily problems lead us to consider that we are not walking in Truth; after all, it gives us joy. We must be always practicing Your Word, but not be religious.  If we act like You say we should, we will exalt You.

What will we be able to share or give to the lost if we live, walk and talk like they do? There must be a distinction between Your servants and those that pay You no mind. We will never be noticed or respected if we are away and withdrawn from You, which is unthinkably bad.

We diminish You when we do not exalt You.  If we do not love You, we will achieve nothing. We need Your instruction and teaching.  Guide us in Your sight. Our greatest defeat will come if we do not glorify You. We want to grow in our faith in You.  Help us, Lord!
