04/02/2017 - THE IMPORTANCE OF FELLOWSHIP

That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship iswith the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 1 John 1.3

During the time the apostles were with Jesus, observing His works, listening to His teachings and His revelations of what was written in the Scriptures, they learned to walk in the Truth.  As they started out in their missions, they would announce everything that the Lord had taught them and this way they could enjoy fellowship with their followers, with the Father and with the Lord Jesus.  This is one of the great secrets of the faith, which also explains the reason for many failures.

We should do like they did. After all, our works without fellowship would be for naught.  Since we are part of the same body – the Lord’s – we cannot omit these lessons well taught by the Master. None of us will have all the gifts at our disposition and often times, someone who is not well known to our church can be of assistance in our struggles.  It is good practice to seek fellowship with everyone.

There is no fellowship without understanding, so we have to lead everyone to the knowledge of the Son of God, who was given to us as the greatest expression of divine love.  The purpose of Jesus having done this is so that those who believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.  To understand how the brotherhood in Christ is important to us is one of the secrets to success in our walk with Jesus; this way we can help each other.

Those who are saved are parts of the body of the Lord.  Paul, the apostle said himself to be indebted to barbarians and to the educated, and likewise, so are we.  There’s no avoiding the necessary effort to take the Truth to the furthest ends of the earth where people are born separate from God, suffer the most cruel attacks of the enemy and die without hearing of the love of the Father.  This was one of Jesus’ last commands before returning to Heaven.

Those that do not collaborate with their brother to grow in faith and understanding of who he is and of the power they have in the Son of God, they obstruct their fellowship with the saints.  Alas, they could be assisted or aided by that person themselves in their needs, which would please God.  How will we enjoy intimacy with God if we don’t do what He determines us to do.  The apostles learned with what they heard and saw Jesus do and then transmitted this to the recently arrived to the divine family.

Don’t block those who need God’s grace from being involved with the saved and also with the Father and the son.  On the contrary, when you need and seek the help of the Triune God, you will see that your laziness prevented you from having the powers of Heaven cooperating in you.  Those who help the smallest of the Mater’s disciples are doing this to Him. No doubt they will be rewarded by the Savior himself.  To obey is to prove that you love Him.

Do everything in your power to make your fellowship real and ready to happen at any and all times.  We’re informed that the devil surrounds us, intent on engulfing us, and so we must do what we were taught.  Obey divine will.  When you need help in your prayers seek someone who walks in fellowship with the Omnipotent.
