23/03/2016 - THE IMPORTANCE OF HIS BENEFITS

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.   Psalm 103.2

The psalmist understood that blessing the Lord would make him gain the most precious gift from God: the gift of comforting himself and other people. Therefore, he should never forget any of the benefits done on his favor. Whenever the psalmist thanked for these benefits, he would remember the holy capacity given by the Most High to solve our problems. He does not want us to live under any evil oppression.

The heavenly Father comforts us in all our tribulations, so that in the same way, we may comfort those who are going through struggles (2 Co 1.4). Therefore, once in a while, try to remember what has been done to you and notice that the gift of solving problems is also in you. So if you are going through any adversity, use this ability.

Besides healing us or solving our difficulties, God makes us doctors over evil aggressions, and thus, we can rid ourselves of anything that bothers us. Now, when we use the divine power to find an answer to our suffering, it is one of the blessings that we cannot forget. This proves that there is a solution for man’s afflictions. This is one of the best ways to be in communion with the Father.

Whenever you are going through any trial, or under a series of troubles sent by the enemy, do not be influenced by the circumstances. Besides bringing evil to your life, the devil does what is his most special characteristic: he lies. He will insist in the fact that your situation is normal, and that all people go through specific problems. However, do not accept this! Those who are new creatures in Christ have been set free from the traps of darkness.

The evil one leads a person to think about a sinful matter, making him feel responsible for the temptation and also marginalized. For this person, facing a temptation is the same as practicing the sin. Therefore, he does not pray any longer and does not have any more courage to rebuke the enemy, for he feels that he is dirty to be used by the Lord. This kind of thought can drive anyone away from God’s presence.

Therefore, do not forget any of the Lord’s benefits, and whenever the devil returns with immoral proposals, with infirmities or any other problem, use the comforting gift and make the enemy run away. God crowns you with goodness (the art of doing good) and righteousness (the capacity of condemning evil and getting rid of it). You decide what you will have, and how you will live.

Be a comforter of lives that have done wrong or that almost fell, for you have the virtue to recover them, delivering them from the fire. If you have not done anything until now for the afflicted that have suffered with the same evil that came upon your life, you now know that you have been prepared by the Lord to do such work.
