Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses. Exodus 1.11

The princes of the world think differently from us, for they only see their own interest. To them, we are nothing but pawns. Although the votes have the same weight on election, after they are elected, the rulers couldn’t care less about us. There is no way out, no matter where you live, because the devil´s purpose is to make them fill up the measure of divine patience. Poor people, whose leaders don’t fear the Omnipotent!

Pharaoh did not see the purpose of the Lord in multiplying the Israelites in Egypt and, because of that, he had to take some measures to stop their growth. Now, when something comes from God´s heart, nothing can stop Him. The Most High was at work, and it didn’t matter if Pharaoh was zealous, for divine plan would prevail. When he commanded that the little boys be killed, the king of Egypt did not count on the fact that the Almighty God knew what to do and would certainly do something.

Pharaoh did not think of the punishment the Lord was already giving him, which was like a prophecy: he himself would raise, educate and prepare the deliverer of the children of Israel. By divine decision, this baby was placed along the waters where his pharaoh´s daughter was bathing. Not only did she raise him, but without knowing, she let his own mother take care of him, and thus, teach him his origin and mission.

In his madness to oppress the Israelites, the Egyptian ruler chose the most wicked men of his people to act like taskmasters and, thus, “teach” the Hebrews not to wish for liberty, but only work day and night manufacturing bricks. Poor king. When God is working, who can prevent Him? When he saw that his resources were increasing, Pharaoh rejoiced; however, when he discovered that the Israelites wanted to be free, he commanded for their work to be increased.

This is one of the strategies of the enemy so that we don’t seek the Lord. Many times, without any explanation, we get irritated at home, at work and even in situations that are not very important. Thus, we move away from the divine commandments and do what we should never do. When you see that this is happening, enter into prayer, and after you confess your error, go back to the normality and safety of the Kingdom of God.

It’s good to always be alert, for, even amongst brethren – people who you want to help -, misunderstandings about you may arise. However, don’t get upset with this, because these situations happen as part of your training, just like it happened to Joseph and, later Moses. As long as the Lord is guiding your steps, don’t try to understand what takes place during the journey. Your victory is inevitable!

The price Pharaoh paid was because of his rebelliousness to the divine plan. When he saw that the children of Israel prospered even when they were in captivity, he knew that the hand of God was upon these people; that is why, the best he could have done was to bow before the God of Israel. However, for some reason that did not come from God, he continued to serve the false gods.

In Christ, with love,

Lord! The enemy cannot paralyze or disturb Your plans. Therefore, we must ignore the threats of the kingdom of suffering and carry on firmly under Your guidance. Our goal is Your Word!

Our battle is against darkness, but, many times, we forget about this and allow the enemy to take us to fight against man. We need to use Your power in man´s favor. Thus, You will be exalted in Your actions. Turn us into Your workers.

In the Name of Jesus, may all wile of the devil that exists in the life of this reader be destroyed. May Your work, Father, suffer no interruptions. Come with Your anointment, so that the Church may overthrow the gates of Hell and Your people achieve victory. Amen!
