Then Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was firmly established. 1 Kings 2.12

The Lord’s choices must be respected. If someone lies about the direction that the Most High has given to His work, it is not even necessary to be outraged by this deception. After all, God Himself will make His decision prevail. If the congregation is holy, undoubtedly the Most High will watch and keep it. As for the substitution of a leader, he must be the first to recognize that his time has come to choose a successor.

We choose wrongly when we look to the normal patterns in society. Samuel acted in such a way in relation to Eliab, one of the sons of Jesse, who had a strong physique, and seemed to be the chosen one in the eyes of the prophet (1 Sm 16.6). At that same moment, the Lord intervened, rebuking His servant. We should be careful not to put our hands on the ark, even if it is falling to the ground.

Sometime later, Solomon was indicated by the Most High; thus, all people should accept him. As soon as he was acclaimed king, Solomon sat on the throne of David, his father. In the same way, when we understand that we have been made kings by Jesus, we must assume His sovereignty over our lives. We all have a kind of ministry to develop, and those who are wise need to reign with the Lord, under the authority of His leadership. In Solomon´s case, he was a replacement, as it can also happen to you someday.

Now, to remain weeping because of the death of a leader is not productive. In fact, the leader must even be encouraged to assume the Lord’s will and remain a servant in rest or in another mission. Weep for the lost, because if they are not saved, they will go towards eternal death. Anyhow, whoever assumes the place of a great leader must strive so that he does not do less than what was accomplished. After all, every student ought to surpass his master. Thus, Solomon was strengthened greatly in his kingdom.

It does not matter how difficult the task may seem. With the help of He who chose you, your capacitation is a matter of days and of believing. God will always be besides the one who is dedicated to fulfill His will, but the contrary will happen to the one who is lazy and has other purposes. It is sad to see someone who was entrusted to a work being stuck to the things of this life and lose his great opportunity. May this never be said of you!

The person that does what is good will have the Omnipotent on their side, and therefore, will be exalted. It is not necessary to build the foundations of the work, because Jesus has already done so. Now, it is only necessary to follow His instructions, without deviating to right or to the left. We have a firm and solid foundation: the Lord Jesus, our Mediator. It was said about Solomon in the beginning: “Like father, like son”. May these words apply to you as well!

Follow the instructions to execute the work properly. Unfortunately, since Solomon did not pay attention to the Word and got married to many foreign women, in the end of his days his heart was corrupted. Would it have been better if he had remained steadfast? Be careful so you do not fall!

In Christ, with love,

God, our Guarantor! When Solomon sat on the throne of David, as the king of Israel, You made his kingdom strengthen in all senses. Today we have been made kings and priests by Jesus. Father! We must be established in You.

Our kingdom also needs to be strengthened, because we have works to do. They must be well executed, and we will manage to do so with Your help. Therefore, help us to clean our territory from the enemies that persecute us and try to destroy us.

See what is that we most need and concede us such a grace. We only have this moment to prove that we love You, and therefore, we need Your help. When the day comes that we must be accountable for our acts, we want to make You glad with what we have done.
