Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Philippians 4:5

The word equity means respect for the equality of the rights of each individual. It is a virtue that Christians should seek to have in their behavior, in thought, and in all that is considered righteous towards others. This sense of justice should be present in all people, but especially in the children of God. It is our duty to treat others with respect.

The Lord’s command is for His servants to live as living examples of His goodwill with people, being kind to all, and especially to their brothers in faith. Even the most hardened in error will praise God by seeing us behaving this way. Is it not this what it lacks for your friends and relatives to surrender to Jesus? They know there is no choice but often resist the invitation we give them.

The lost, who is greatly influenced by the enemy, does wrong things before people. He knows that he is in sin, so he will not dwell with the Lord. Now, when he sees a Christian acting sharply, his mind becomes confused and restless, because it does not pass through his or anyone else’s mind that one saved by the grace of God (and not by merit) behaves in such a way.

One of the most difficult moments happened when the Amalekites invaded Ziklag and burned it. David´s women, Ainanan and Abigail, lived there and they were taken captive along with other women and children. After defeating the enemy and rescuing the people, David ordered the division of the spoil also with those who were left with the goods – equal treatment. This act became known as David´s Decree.

We do not have to publicize our fairness; the Almighty will do that for us, and we will have our reward. Always do good to everyone. The Most High is aware of both the good and the evil that we do and gives us the reward accordingly. The Bible declares: Whatsoever a man sows, that he will also reap (Galatians 6: 7).

The Lord is always close to us, no matter where we are. So do not let yourself be tempted. Even if you know something bad about someone, when you meet them, be gentle, because you were not called to be a punisher. On the day of Judgment, the Most High will send the those who did not convert, to the lake of fire and brimstone, but He would like to send them to Heaven.

For example, when you reach out to someone who has not been greeted by anyone, you give them a positive message – that you consider them. A simple smile can change a life and be the necessary touch for the person to become sensitive to reason and especially to the Gospel. Therefore, let God be glorified in Jesus for everything you do for your neighbor. We are commanded to preach the Good News to every creature. Get up and do it!

In Christ with love,

God of equity! We must fulfill this commandment more. Then, You will be glorified. But we do not always remember it, and when we realize it, we have already offended someone because he did not pay attention to us or did not show us love.

The woman who kissed Jesus' feet and wiped them with her hair would not have done it if He had not treated her with respect and consideration, even though she was a sinner. The love of Christ led her to such an act of gratitude and praise to You.

May all recognize that we love people, wether they are good or bad. As You are close to us, helps us not to see the difference shown by man, but the truth revealed by You.
