01/09/2018 - THE LOSS OF UNBELIEF IN THE LORD

“I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. Exodus 23:27

Beyond the wonderful promises testified in the preceding messages, made to the Israelites, now the Almighty says how they will claim possession of Canaan, beginning with the land of the Amorrites. The sad part was their not believing in the Word of God, not laying hold of the territory that they would conquer easily.  Similar fact to this has often occurred with many Christians that due to their incredulity do not advance spiritually.

The Israelites already had the promise that the occupation of the Promised Land would be without difficulty.  Just as God had been with them taking them out of Egypt – the strongest empire of those days where they had been slaves – He would intervene in that effort.  In rational judgment the Hebrews would have never gotten out from under Pharaoh´s domain.  When we do not believe in the Most High, we do not hold fast to the Word, that would bring us fulfillment and we place ourselves under the command of the enemy, who again enslaves and oppresses us.

If they had only trusted, in very little time the Israelites would lay hold of a prosperous land, prepared for those who trust in God.  However, they disrespected the order to advance, when they conceived the idea of sending scouts or spies to the territory in question.  With the bad reports returned by those men, they became desperate and consequently had to wander for 40 years in the desert suffering great setback.  Believe in the Lord, never in the enemy!

The promise was that God would send His fear before the Israelites.  It would be something like this: when they arrived at a city, the people would despair with the fame of their numerous victories and on seeing them, all would flee.  Nevertheless, as they accepted the plan of the scouts and spies they lost the Father’s plan.  Could it be that you have behaved the same way, saying that the day will yet come when you will obey the Lord?  If things are not good, it could be that there is rebellion in your faith.

In all places, the adversaries would be disconcerted before the sons of Jacob.  It would not be difficult to take possession of Canaan, however, since they did not trust, they did not receive or conquer the blessing.  The Hebrews did not understand that the Lord’s modus operandi is always the most simple and perfect, being why they had to participate in great wars and suffer many casualties.  Do not be given to error, but trust in the Redeemer and you will see His faithfulness.

If the Israelites believed in the Creator, those people would turn their backs to them.  Do not commit the same error; otherwise, you will suffer many trials in order to achieve the fulfillment of the heavenly promises.  See how serious it can be to not believe in the Most High!  Those who act this way make Him to be a liar and the devil instead of turning his back on the individual will face him head on.  Is it worth it?

As you allow the Holy Spirit to direct your life, you will trust in Him who never lied or denied His Word (Isaiah 53:9).  Stay firm in your faith in Jesus and receive your victories, confirming the Holy Scriptures: as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3).  Rise and do what you were commanded to do!
