Great deliverance He gives to His king, and shows mercy to His anointed, to David and his descendants forevermore. Psalm 18:50

The life of David was made of constant victories. David defeated all his enemies. That’s why his example is valid to everyone who serves God, so that the malign one cannot defeat them, and that they might be victorious in everything. When the Spirit of the Lord put these instructions in the Scriptures, He was offering us the same treatment.

David was sure that it was the Almighty one who freed him from his adversaries. No one wanted to fight against the pastor from Bethlehem, for his fame was well known amongst all. All of them knew that God fought in David’s favor; that’s why they would keep away from him. The Lord wants the same fame over you. The enemy’s threats do not matter; when the Lord is on your side, you will also be powerful.

God has already claimed vengeance on our behalf. Jesus has defeated Satan and his demons in hell forever. Therefore rejoice, because your enemy cannot raise his head anymore. If at this moment, you start praying and ask the Lord to break all the forces of evil in your life, the devil knows that he will have to flee. He cannot be victorious against those who belong to the Lord, because he would have to defeat the Lord himself first – and Satan can’t even consider this possibility.

Our Father has already put all powers of hell underneath our feet; you have the authority to rebuke all forces that oppress you, and you can order them to leave right away. Every evil thing is subdued to the authority we have in the name of Jesus. David said he would sing praises to the name of the Lord, for He had conceded victory over all David’s opponents (Ps. 27:6). Our power is in the name of Jesus.

This name gave David more than just victories: it would make his victories glorious. The same shall be done to you. Your life can start changing at this moment. Therefore do not fear your adversary. Be firm, and fight against your enemies in the name of Jesus and see what God can do for you. The promise is for you and for your posterity. With faith and determination you will be free from your oppressors.

Make the Lord be known as a good Father, for what He will do on your behalf. The Lord most high should be exalted even by those who hear what He has done for you. God doesn’t treat His sons differently from each other (Rm. 2:11). That’s why the same thing that happened to David will happen to you. In the name of the Lord, rise up and be victorious.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
