Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness.  Ephesians 6.14

There are two important things that we should do: gird our waist with the Truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness. When we decide to do so, we will be firm in our position in Christ. However, those who want to avoid the forces of evil from reaching them must follow the Lord’s orientation. Those who are firm in the divine declarations see a thousand falling to their side and ten thousand to their right, but they will not be struck (Ps 91.7). The Most High’s protection that is given is insurmountable.

The Truth – the Word of God – must serve as the belt to tighten the clothes of faith that we use over our spiritual loins. Without this adjustment, we will not have the necessary skill to obtain success in our battles. On the other hand, if our clothes are loose, we will not fight as we should. Know this: the battles against the powers of darkness are for true warriors. Therefore, following the instructions of the Lord is the only way to avoid defeat.

The soldiers of faith should never fear the traps of the enemy, for we were freed from the capacity of the evil one to strike us. Whoever believes in the Most High is in a spiritual level that is different than he who does not believe, for God Himself is his protection. The spirit of man – his true self – needs to be clothed with the robes detailed in the Word, so that it will not be found naked and vulnerable to the evil one’s arrows. 

We are guided to be always clothed with the Truth. Or else, the attacks of the evil one will make all kinds of suffering come to us. Our spiritual immunity depends on these clothes, and once we are covered by them, there is no way how the liar can invade our territory and strike us. However, those who are careless about fulfilling the recommendations will be the only ones to blame for the evil that will happen to them. Do not be defeated by evil.

The devil’s intention is harmful and dangerous. Once you know this truth, never enter in dialogue with him. The demons were angels one day, created as superior beings when compared to man. Thus, they know well how to corrupt us. That is the reason why many children of God have fallen in Satan’s talk, as it happened with Eve in the Garden of Eden. He is so cunning that with a simple declaration, he can contaminate those who listen to him.

The breastplate of righteousness is the best shield that exists, for it keeps us completely safe. Now the shield made by man only protects the side in which it is placed, and even so, it only serves for physical things. There is no way how to abstract the divine promises, since our struggle is spiritual (Ep 6.12) all the evil that happens to us starts in the spiritual world, but those people who are established in righteousness will be far away from oppression.

He who is clothed with the Truth will see that there will never be a scare near him. With the breastplate of righteousness, he will be kept from all evil and will fear nothing. Remember that he who believes in the divine Word is more than a conqueror in all things (Rm 8.37). The Lord is pleased with those who deposit their trust in Him.
