Then they killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, put out the eyes of Zedekiah, bound him with bronze fetters, and took him to Babylon. 2 Kings 25.7

The last king of Judah, Zedekiah, paid a high price for not keeping the commandments. Whoever notices his attitude and his people’s posture compare them to drunkards, who do cannot perceive the danger they are in. Nowadays, we have heard of a very dangerous doctrine, which affirms that once saved, a person is forever saved. For those who exaggerate God’s grace, the Biblical examples seem to be out of fashion.

Sin had blinded the inhabitants of Judah in such a way that they refused the Most High’s warnings. Jeremiah even wept, insisting that they left the broad door. Unfortunately, his voice was mocked and defeated, but his prophecy was fulfilled like he had announced. Never trust your eternal destiny to any concept, even if it has been taught by renowned preachers. Go learn with the Word, for then you will act as the Author of the Bible says.

Whoever has a commitment with the Lord is used to paying a high price for speaking the truth. As it happened with Jeremiah, so it happens with those who are faithful to the Holy Scriptures. If many turn their backs on you, do not be frustrated; fulfill the commandment. The global evangelization could be more advanced if many “Christians” heard the divine calling and helped us. However, since our message bothers some people, they think in a different manner.

The fall before the Chaldeans happened because they did not pay attention to the Lord speaking. Today, the devil has made many saved ones stumble for despising the Word, which would be the Shield of fire in their side. There are many people who call themselves servants of God but never have their prayers attended. They do not know that if they kept the commandments, they would have the Father’s love – as well as Lord Jesus’ love – operating in them. It is lucrative to be faithful.

As it had been predicted, the sons of the King were killed before him. What a gruesome scene his eyes saw! He may have remembered the prophet’s warnings, but it was already too late. The rich man in Hades opened his eyes and saw how foolish he had been; he tried to haggle to decrease his suffering, but was unsuccessful. He remembered his brothers, and saw that they would inevitably end up in that place, but was also left unattended (Luke 16.22-31). Now it is time to make the right decision!

The king that refuses to see what God shows him will have his eyes put out by the enemy’s hatred. After the devil killed all his sons, Zedekiah saw the hatred from Babylon put out his own eyes. Whoever falls in eternal slavery will never see the light of life again. Therefore, why should someone believe in this “beautiful” message that the saved will never lose salvation, if Jesus said that only those who persevere until the end will be saved? Flee from the adulterated message.

The blind and sonless king’s walk towards Babylon was in much suffering, for he walked with two bronze fetters on his feet. The amount of time that it took, the pain and wounds that he felt did not matter any longer. Now, as a slave, he was taken to the land where he should have defeated and subjugated. And about you, what will be said?

In Christ, with love,

God, our deliverer! How sad it was for You to see Your people marching towards slavery in Babylon. Your prophets spoke harshly with them, but like it happens with those who do not respect You, You allowed them to suffer their deserved punishment.

Lord! Some preachers call us radicals and reactionary, because we warn about the eternal suffering that the saved, who live in sin, will eternally suffer. Like Jeremiah, we have found “prophets” who guarantee that Your goodness will hinder You from condemning them.

Your people need to wake up and not be led by the modern and strange messages to Your Word. First, it happened with the ten tribes of the North; then, with Judah, and finally, it will happen with everyone who loves sin, and therefore, that doesn’t have Your love. Have mercy, Father!
