He who has a deceitful heart finds no good, and he who has a perverse tongue falls into evil. John 11:40

The worst thing in life people can do is to be driven by the enemy. The evil one will try to use every one of us for his own purposes, and to take advantage of our weaknesses. The devil would never allow someone to be an instrument to do good things, because he is the opposite to the One who gives us joy, love and peace. It is infinitely better to suffer on the Lord’s side than to enjoy something that comes from the enemy.

When we are young and healthy, we see no need to seek the Lord Most High and to live a holy life. Those who don’t know the Truth don’t see a problem in taking advantage of others in every possible situation. In his pursuit of pleasure and wealth, man doesn’t see that the most profitable thing is to do good things to others; after all, those who act this way shall receive an eternal reward from the Creator.

Why should we walk in ways that will never do us any good? When the wicked need help the most, they realize that the darkness that “protects” them in fact doesn’t allow them to find an end to their troubles. It is written, and it shall never be changed: For whatever a man sows, that he will also reap (Gl. 6:7). Isn’t it about time to stop committing mistakes and to start seeking the direction of the Lord?

Those who turn their eyes to the Lord are accepted into the divine family. He forgives and cleanses them, and teaches them to walk the correct path. Just the fact that the devil isn’t their lord, is worth it to be a servant of God. However, the most important thing is to walk beside the Lord, to enjoy His company and to learn from Him.

One other mistake that many sons of God commit is to have a “double language”. They take good care of their mouths, and say only nice words; but inside their souls, they curse and mock those who don’t have the same privileges as they do. Those who act this way don’t understand that one day they’ll fall off the cliff. Don’t allow your mouth or your soul to cause you to sin. Be clean on the inside and on the outside.

The Creator filled us with wisdom so that we’d plant good seeds in this life, and He is upset every time we allow lies, vanity and other bad things to enter our hearts. Watch out so that Satan doesn’t have you in his hands. Seek the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you; this will keep the enemy away.

Make a decision: from now on, only the Lord will direct your life. Choose to learn from Jesus, He is gentle and lowly in heart (Mt. 11:29). If you walk with Him, you will be successful in everything you do. Don’t despise your happiness.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
