27/02/2017 - THE REASON FOR DIVINE OPERATIONS

Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that You are the Lord God, and that You have turned their hearts back to You again. 1 Kings 18.37

The Lord will not grant His powers to someone who will promote themselves or obtain something different from His testimony. Be careful! The enemy is capable of turning you into a new Saul, if you don’t pay attention to the Word. God will never act in a confused manner; but rather fulfill His promises, hoping that you will also fulfill your vows.

The situation of the kingdom of the North was complicated. Ahab and his perverse wife Jezebel were disrespecting the One who had removed the Hebrews from Egypt and given them the Promised Land. Both of them had sold themselves to the devil and, because of that, the entire nation was away from God and searching help with the enemies. The devil has been tempting many people to do the same, and many of them have obeyed him. You can never fall into Satan’s lies!

This couple also killed God´s prophets. The situation got so severe, that the Lord had to choose an inhabitant of Gilead to exhort Ahab. Those who serve the Most High in spirit and in truth (Job 4:24) will be used in a spectacular way, if they do not fear the challenge ahead of them. Elijah exhorted the king, who did not listen to him. As a result of his attitude, the prophet announced that the heavens would shut.

Because of that, for three years and six months, there was no rain and no dew. Ahab sent his soldiers to hunt Elijah everywhere, but they never found him. Until the day that the Lord ordered him to present himself before the king, and Elijah, with heavenly dignity, told Ahab to meet him on Mount Carmel with all of Israel and the prophets of Asherah and Baal, because Elijah wanted to prove who the real God is, and that is what happened (1 Kings 18:39).

A man of God should never make use of any subterfuge or corruption. Even if he goes through a grievance, he will not be destroyed if that is not the divine will. With dignity, Elijah waited for the sorcerers of Israel to be unmasked while they called upon the demons to answer them. Then he showed everybody who the real God is with just a simple prayer (1 Kings 18:36, 37).

When the prophet cried out, the Lord answered with fire and, before many stunned faces, the devil was humiliated. This needs to happen with you in your battles as well. Don’t be driven by what your eyes can see. Now, if something is of God, you will obey what He says in His Word. Whatever the Father does not reveal to you should never be used. Only those who are called should do what they are commanded to do.

By seeing the Most High work in a spectacular way – after all, Elijah made sure everyone was able to see God’s work -, everyone shouted that only the Lord is God. We know that, but other people need to know this as well. Never make use of any fraud to prove the truth. In the work of God, only that which is genuine will prevail. Hallelujah and amen!
