Oh, do not let the oppressed return ashamed! Let the poor and needy praise Your name. Psalm 74.21

Those who do not understand the Biblical message live far from God’s presence, and do not know their rights and privileges in Christ. The mission of the church is to preach the Good News, to tell everyone what belongs to them by faith in Christ. The oppressed, afflicted and needy have the divine guarantee that they will not turn back ashamed. Now, they can all praise the Name of Jesus.

The problem number one that afflicts all the nations is the lack of knowledge that people have of the Gospel. This word, of Greek origin, means Good News. When a person learns what belongs to him in Christ, he starts to live victoriously. Governments would spend less with the health system if they encouraged their people to seek for churches where the Word of God is preached in its fullness.

As disciples of Jesus, we were ordered by Him to go into all the world to preach the Gospel (Mk 16.15). Those who have done so are astonished with what the Lord can do to the people that place their faith in Him. Just like in the days of Jesus, when the Most High healed the sick and freed the oppressed, today the same things are happening, and a great number of people are enjoying the abundant life brought by the Master.

What leader could invite the weary and oppressed to draw near to him, and at the same time, guarantee them that they would be freed of their oppressions? Jesus did so (Mt 11.28), and the verse we are studying now declares that whoever is oppressed by evil has the guarantee in the Lord that he will not return ashamed. Now, the honor of the Most High is at stake, for if there is even one that calls out to Jesus to free him from any evil, and he is not freed, the Word will have failed.

However, the truth is that there never was and never will exist an occasion in which the words from the Master’s lips are not fulfilled. All the afflicted, needy or dominated by an evil force can draw near with confidence to God, for He will never let them go empty-handed. It is up to us to teach them to do so with certainty. If you are a person who needs divine help, it is time to seek the Lord and be blessed.

All of those who are weeping today, if they go to Christ – the Only Way that leads to the Father – they will prove the love from heaven. The secret is to trust completely in what He speaks to your heart through His Word, and act accordingly. Those who do so will return with joy to praise the Lord and declare in a loud and good sound what the Lord has done for them. He will never let you return defeated or ashamed. The victory is yours now!
