These are the words of the covenant which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which He made with them in Horeb. Deuteronomy 29:1

Our praise to the Lord should be dynamic, as should be our relationship with Him. The Lord is always giving us new revelation; therefore, those who aren’t open to new teachings won’t know what to do when facing challenges. God knows everything, and because of that, He knows every step the devil plans to lead us out of His ways. However, if we remain vigilant, as Jesus taught us (Mt. 26:41), He will show us the best way to free ourselves from the attacks of the enemy.

Christ affirmed to His disciples that He would say a couple more things to them that, at that moment, they wouldn’t be able to deal with (Jo. 16:12). No doubt these are things that will help us overcome trials. The Holy Spirit’s “school” works just like the elementary school: on the first couple of years, we learn how to add, subtract, multiply and divide; Then we learn algebra, geometry and so on.

The best way to achieve more from the Lord is to put all your efforts on learning what He has already been giving you. If you haven’t yet learned the four basic math operations, how do you expect to understand Pythagoras’ theorem and other advanced lessons? Jesus talked about new revelations, because there will be a time when we will have to bring out of our treasure new and old things (Mt. 13:52). Whatever He is teaching you today is as important as what He taught you when you surrendered your life to Him.

The truth is that the enemy doesn’t cease to tempt us; therefore, it is necessary to have an open heart and listen to the Lord’s directions so we won’t lose any battles. Those who were overcomers in the Biblical times depended upon God in every step. When they didn’t consult the Lord they were defeated. Whatever you have to decide, always ask the Lord for orientation first, and He will speak through His Word.

There is something very dangerous that affects most of us Christians: when we are led by our own emotions.  Psychology has, in many ways, taken the divine anointing’s place: worship leaders who can make people emotive with the songs they sing and non-sincere prayers – many people say that this is the work of God. Well, the Lord makes Himself present when what’s written is revealed, or through a new word; this illuminates our souls and gives us directions to make good decisions.

On the other hand, there is the intellectual service, planned in our minds and not by the Holy Spirit. People become very incredulous and are led to not make any decisions if they’re not sure it will work beforehand. It’s called “seeing before believing”, and this isn’t biblical at all. The correct way around should be “believe to see”, and this will bring the divine power into action. Both the emotions and the intellectual services are from the enemy. God fulfills only things that He promises.

In Christ, with love,
