31/07/2016 - THE REWARD FOR OBEDIENCE

And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men who are on the earth.  1 Chronicles 17.8

King David had felt the desire to build the temple – a house for the Lord – , but he did not receive divine permission for that. However, God comforted him by making this beautiful revelation, which explains why he was never captured or hurt by his enemies during the battles. Never work in the word of God for personal reasons; if the Most High has called you then He will guide you. In the end you will see that what was done to you was simply wonderful. 

This message is a message from God to those who want to follow Him, for it leads them to understand that they must not fear persecution. At any moment they seek guidance it will be given to them. Besides, all they need is to cry out to the Lord in case they are in danger. Without a doubt, we can do much more than we have been doing if we allow Him to use us. Therefore, never allow fear to take over your heart. 

It does not matter where the Almighty will take you or what will happen in that place. If you are obedient, then He will fight along with you, opening doors and leading you to succeed. Whatever is the area of persecution – personal, social, political, financial -, God will fight for you. He knows why He seasons you with fire (Mark 9:49): so that He can trust you with greater works. 

The demons that arise against you will be defeated as soon as they dare to attack you. Thus, you will not have to give in before any of them, but just prepare yourself to receive the reward of victory. Just like God fulfilled the promises made to Joshua, to David and so many other servants, He will also fulfill the promises He made to all those who are called to be pastors of His people. So then, why fear?

Never let yourself be defeated by the spirit of fear sent to defeat you; just keep your garments clean and be under the direction of the Lord, without contradicting the biblical commandments. Even if He has to personally fight in your favor, like He did with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego in Babylon, you can be certain that He will do so (Daniel 3). God is ahead of you in order to keep you and use you.  

The Lord exterminates the enemy in the heat of the battle, right before you. Therefore, don’t hide yourself at home, praying for this to happen; go out and face the evil that threatens you. Even if the strength of the adversary is greater than yours, it will never be enough to face God, for He will destroy it and make it fall right before you. What the Most High has in store for you is very big. 

At last, God promised to make your name great like the name of the great men who are on Earth. Now, what He accomplished for David, He will certainly do to all those who serve Him faithfully. Your opportunity of being fulfilled in every way is much greater than you ever imagined. You just need to be a faithful warrior of the Lord.
