The poor shall eat and be satisfied; those who seek Him will praise the Lord.Let your heart live forever!  Psalm 22.26

Jesus declared that man would not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Mt 4.4). There are many that declare themselves Christians and attend a good church, but still do not feed on the Word. The food that is served from the pulpit of your congregation is not enough; you need to be qualified as someone meek – calm, with a soft spirit, obedient to the Lord – in order for you to have access to all the food.

In the Sermon of the Mountain, the Lord highlighted how important it is for us to submit to Him and not be like a wild animal. He declared that the meek will inherit the earth (Mt 5.5). Whoever does his own will does not incline his ears to the divine Word or submit to the Spirit of God, and does not qualify for this blessing. But there are many quiet people who are not meek, but foolish.

One thing is to submit to God, another is to be a fool and not seek your right or strive to grow, and still say that everything is alright. This is not the kind of person that the Bible considers meek. For example, the Word revealed that there was no one as meek as Moses (Nm 12.3), but we know that his “meekness” did not allow an Egyptian to injure an Israelite; therefore, with a blow, Moses killed him.

Those who submit to the Most High eat until they are full. For them, one verse becomes a book, an encyclopedia.  In such a way, whenever they are hungry, the Spirit of God guides them through Scriptures. If they need a word to get rid of a temptation, for example, the Lord makes them find such a promise. If the need is healing, the same thing happens. The Most High promises that the meek – the obedient, not the grumblers – will inherit the earth.

It is not enough only to be meek and only delight on the banquet. It is necessary to seek the heavenly Father. In fact, Jesus was clear when He said that only He who seeks will find, only he who asks will receive, and the door is only opened to him who knocks (Mt 7.7). However, if you are spiritually lazy, never having time to seek the Lord, read the Scriptures, or spend time in prayer, you will not find the Most High, and consequently, you will not praise Him.

The Lord says that the heart – the spirit – of the meek will live forever. There will be no end for he who knows how to be guided by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, do not stop doing the divine will, of fitting in the plans of the Almighty, and never rebel against any of His plans. Always be where He determined you to be, and thus, you will see that your attitude was fundamental for your happiness.

When we learn something in Scriptures, at the same time we must assume it. Being meek is having the capacity to learn the eternal truth, to live it, and satisfy all your desire to know the Lord and His plans. The meek learn what is necessary in order to never fail or leave the construction of the tower for later because of lack of material (Lk 14.28).

In Christ, with love,

Good God! How good it is for us to submit to You, for when we do so, we give You the right to mold us. What is interesting is that we do not lose the agility and do not become religious fools, who do not resist to the enemy’s lies. The meek are energetic in the faith.

How many people have ceased learning the eternal truth until they are fed, since they do not submit to You. There is nothing better than letting Your Spirit guide us, for in such a way, we become more active and powerful, in order to do Your will.

Now, we come to Your presence to place our lives in complete surrender. Take our hearts and make us the servants You desire. Then, we will serve You better, and therefore, will fulfill all Your orders. In Your meekness, we will also be meek.
