07/02/2014 - THE RIGHT ATTITUDE IN COMBAT

So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:48

Those who learn the right attitude in combat are less likely to be defeated. In the battle against the giant Goliath, we see that David did not run away from the one that the Lord had allowed to offend him. From the moment that he looked to the giant, he knew that he would be victorious, if only he was allowed to fight against the one that dared to defy the armies of the living God.

The Most High chooses His brave ones amongst the simple, for they will give Him praise when they are victorious. The Lord only uses the brave, never the cowards. Do not stop fighting the hardships that come your way, and in each one of them, ask for divine direction. After you know what to do, march towards the fight in the name of the Lord. After all, no one can be victorious without fighting.

When the enemy senses that his defeat is coming, he tries to avoid it by showing himself strong. Therefore, whenever he rises to strike you, it is time to strike him even stronger. If something is troubling you, it is time to rebuke this evil and order it to leave you. If the devil is in silence, it means that you have not become a threat to him yet.

Be on a hurry to be used by the Almighty, for sluggishness does not come from the Lord. He is always ready to help those who trust in Him. So why leave it for later? Why not use the authority that was given to you? God knows of your struggles. For that reason, he used the preacher to tell you something or to bring your attention to the Scriptures, so that you might know that He is by your side.

Feel what you should do in times of battle, for the battle is the Lord’s. That is why you should never be disconnected from the Word, for even after victory there may come a terrible defeat. Not giving God the praise for what He has done in your life makes the enemy certain that you will not have divine help in the next battle. Only the leper that came back to thank Jesus heard that he was saved (Luke. 17:11-19).

Never make your decisions without asking for the Lord’s orientation. Be in spiritual silence before the threat, but connected to what the Spirit of God will tell you. You should accept his direction right away. One of the missions of the Holy Spirit is to guide us into all Truth (Jo. 16:13).

If you get used to obeying what the Word tells you, there will be no defeats in your record. However, if you act on your own conduct, you will not always be successful in your undertakings, for it is only when the light shines that the enemy is overshadowed.

In Christ, with love,
