Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Ephesians 6.24

Many people say they love God, but Jesus has already defined what loving him really means (John 14.21). Those who fail to keep the Lord’s commandments with all their hearts prove that they do not love Christ. Even if pretending seems to be the only way to go, there is no point in doing it, because God’s grace is with those who love him in sincerity.

Followers of all religions claim they love God. For sure, most of them are sincere in their statements, but many times their behavior proves that this is not true – or else, the Lord does not care about what they do, which is a lie. If men do not follow the Scriptures, whatever they do to show their love of God is useless. So we need to accept what God says.

If the Bible were not the Word of God, where would God be, having left us without his true Rules? The consistency of everything that is written in the Holy Bible attests to its divine authorship. Jesus was clear when he said that only those who have his commandments and keep them love him. And he gave us everything we need to love him in sincerity.

When we understand the Word of God and decide to guide our lives on it, we are making a commitment that is as (or even more) serious than marriage. He who gives in the temptation of not complying with the provisions envisaged in this “marriage agreement” is adulterous, and the Bible says he will not inherit the kingdom of God (1Corinthians 6.9).

We must dedicate ourselves fully to our spouses; after all, a small mistake can violate the trust between us. Once this connection is lost, there has to be a full confession, with no hidden details, because our request for forgiveness is accepted only when we are completely sincere. Those who fail to confess their sins in a sincere manner are fooling themselves. And let us remember that God’s justice will be carried out first among those who claim to belong to him.

There is no justification for those who lie. Deceiving the other party to the agreement (whether a spouse in marriage or the Lord in the work of salvation) will bring punishment from true justice. In fact, there is not a single case in which lying is tolerable, and those who fail to walk the path of sincerity will end up in the hands of the devil and never have peace.

Delight yourself in God’s grace; but his grace will no longer be with you if you lack sincerity. So turn away from sin, even if your sins are only in your thoughts. When you are not sincere, you are preventing God from working in our life. And why should you pay such a high price for not loving God with all your heart?

In Christ, with love,
