Pray without ceasing.  1 Thessalonians 5.17

To pray without ceasing is a divine commandment. Even if you spend hours doing other things, whenever you intercede, return to the same subjects, with the same faith and determination. Praying is facing a battle that we must be victorious. Therefore, never pray carelessly, but always firm in your faith. Nobody should start to build a tower if he is not certain that he will finish it (Lk 14.28).

Isaac is an example of someone who was not dismayed because of how long it took to pray without receiving an answer. After 20 years of insistence, he saw the glory of God confirmed by His Word. He waited for the promise that said that through him would come the Seed that would deliver man from sin. Even though he seemed to be in a dead end, he was unshakeable in the promise of the Almighty, and everything was fulfilled.

The continual prayer rejects not having an answer. This is proven in the parable of the wicked judge. Every day, a certain woman went to a magistrate asking for justice. She did not stop repeating her request until she was answered. Jesus told us to observe what the wicked judge said, for He will do justice to His chosen ones, even though it seems that He might be taking too long to act.

The children of God must assimilate these examples, so that they might be encouraged when they receive the direction to pray for sinners. The wicked will not have another chance to escape from Hell if they do not accept Christ as their Savior. If Isaac had given up the promise, what would be of all of us? Do not give up! You do not know what you will lose or what your responsibility will be if you give up.

Some spend all their strength to buy more money, making it become their god. Why should Christians not use their time and energy to evangelize others? Undoubtedly, they will obtain an infinitely greater wealth. The reward of the saved ones will be great, and it will last for all centuries. But the material goods are corruptible and they pass away (Mt 6.19).

Those who pray without ceasing will have many reasons to praise the Father, for all their petitions will be answered. The Lord has given human beings the blessing of reproduction. However, for those who have been born again, He has given the capacity of bearing children in the faith. What a privilege! How sad it is when the people of God waste such a great gift.

Be watchful and pray only for the things that God has promised you through Scriptures. On the contrary, nothing will happen. If you learn what the divine will is and persevere in it, you will manage to find an answer for all your requests. Therefore, walk on! Seek to fulfill what has been promised to you, and thus, you will present to Him your “Isaac”.
