“Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37

I believe we have to review the way we treat people. I have seen many people whose life was consecrated to the Lord and who were considered righteous before God, fall into a trap of the enemy; and because of this they were treated as though they were ungodly. Now, David didn’t lose his kingdom when he committed adultery with Bathsheba, neither did Salomon lose his reign because of his deviations. When you see a brother in faith in error, tripping in something forbidden, be alert so that the devil does not use your life.

The sad thing in all of this is that many times, the brother who tripped enjoyed from our friendship until we became aware of his wrongdoing. In some cases, we even considered this person a holy man or woman of God, and indeed he or she was. However, because he didn’t stay alert and fell into temptation, it seems like this person has become our enemy, somebody who can no longer have the friendship of such “pure” people like us. Thus, we execrate that person as the biggest villain of all times.

Although the Word of God declares that the Lord sustains all those who fall, we judge him as a culprit from Hell. We almost send post cards writing his new home address as sinners land. However, if we had fallen, would we enjoy people doing the same thing to us? How many “David´s” have been wasted because of one sin, and perhaps if we had sheltered that person just like that Bible teaches us, they would have been saved?

Haven´t we exceeded ourselves? Of course yes! The worst is that we are obeying the devil, who wants to spread to the four corners the “news” of that person who has been seduced. How can we do such thing? In the book of Proverbs 17:26, the Lord says that it is not good to punish the righteous, for only He will be able to judge him, condemn and punish him. Without a doubt, He is doing so ever since the fall of men, for once He removes His presence, the person feels like the most miserable person in the world.

We struggle so much to remove a person from sin – crime, prostitution, drugs, idolatry, witchcraft, etc. -, but we are too quick to judge and send our dear brother in Christ to the path of destruction. Besides, almost all the time we enjoy telling the details to everybody. If you want to please the Lord, see His message. The Father says it´s not good to punish the righteous. As quickly as you can, lead the person to understand his or her error and show him the way back.

Still in the verse of Proverbs, it is says that no prince – no saved person – must strike against he who acts righteously. In case this person falls, the Lord is powerful to lift him up as many times as it´s necessary, as well as have the person understand that he needs to repent. So, following that, knowing that he will fall again and will lose himself, the Almighty will lead him to eternity. The Father is not like man who is always evil; He knows how to recognize and keep apart those who love Him indeed.

May all those who are members of the Body of Christ stop acting like judges and promoter of the disgrace of the saved ones and may they become intercessors, and not ally themselves to the thief. We have to denounce the true authors of errors before the throne of grace. The right thing to do is to lead the person who has fallen to recognize his or her transgression, and although it might be something very serious, lead that person to repentance.

In Christ, with love,

Father, how can it be that we do not observe Your instructions concerning such an important matter? If we continue to act like this, they day will come where we will give account of our judgments and gossips, even though they are true, and what we did to the moral and name of the beloved brother.

You have said that it is not good to punish the righteous; in fact, only You can punish your children. We must never judge or condemn in any way a servant of God, even if apparently it seems like he is possessed by the spirit of error, for all we can do is pray for that person to be delivered and come back to serving You.

From today on, may there be no more of these “religious” people amongst us, who like to spread rumors or comments about other people’s sins. The best thing to do is to love, forgive and lift up the person who has fallen. Lord, heal the soul of any person who has given in to temptation. Thank You, Father!
