Dwell in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father.  Genesis 26:3

Because of a drought, Isaac journeyed to the South in the direction of Egypt. As he arrived at Gerar, God made him stop there. Undoubtedly he was a man of prayer and when something bothered him he prayed for and received instructions from the Lord.  When he heard that he had traveled as far as he was permitted, he would stop and wait for new directions. The same should occur with everyone that heeds and obeys the Most High, for if anyone should surpass the orders they received they have nobody to blame but themselves.

The Lord informed Isaac that he should not go to Egypt and that he should inhabit the land where he was, which would be given to him and his descendants. The Omnipotent fulfills His promises; so whenever you understand that God spoke to you through His word, pay full attention and special care to obey this. The Hebrew patriarch obeyed; since all his life he saw that the Most High had a plan for him, and following his Father Abraham’s advice he was faithful until death.

On hearing that he should inhabit the land, Isaac received word that he should sojourn through it. Never argue with God or disobey Him.  Because He is Omniscient and Mentor to a plan far beyond our ability to comprehend, He and only He knows why we were chosen to carry out our mission. To sojourn is to explore the possibilities and potential of a land and that is what we should do in the Holy Bible, for in it there is eternal life. The Scriptures testify about us as it did with Jesus (John 5:39).

If Isaac obeyed and sojourned in that land the Lord would be with him; but should he rebel and be disobedient, God could not fulfill what He had promised. The saved must learn how to pay attention to the Most High; otherwise they will not succeed in their faith in Jesus. The Savior said we should examine the Bible, which means we should be like miners prospecting and digging for gold, precious metals, gems or minerals. No doubt the Word has a lot to say about us.

Obedient to God, Isaac would be blessed. This way, those who do what He commands will have the same fate. In Ecclesiastes, the Lord tells us to sow our seed in the morning and not withhold our hand in the evening, for we do not know if it will prosper (Ecclesiastes 11:6). At all times, God’s servants must be attentive to the Word, because this is the way that the Father leads and directs us. When you receive understanding, you lay hold of the divine answer for your life.

The Almighty was very clear when He said that he would give Isaac and his descendants all those lands that he was supposed to sojourn. Likewise, when we sojourn the revelations of the All Mighty, what we learn belongs to us and to our family – not only the natural but the spiritual. If we do not answer to God and disobey we will be left empty handed. Isaac would only have those lands if he sojourned in them. Besides, the Lord could only be with Him and bless him if Isaac obeyed him.

Finally, the best revelation came: God would confirm the oath made to Abraham. In us, the Most High will ratify the blessings of the New Alliance made by Jesus, which encompass us. Great is our inheritance in Christ.

In Christ, with Love,

Oh God! How wonderful it is to walk with You, doing your will. We can’t go down to Egypt so as not to fall into temptation, which would cause great harm to ourselves. We want to inhabit the land that You gave us to live in order to be blessed.

We must sojourn the land of the Holy Scriptures to find those messages which will do a tremendous good for us. Undoubtedly in them there is everything that we need.

Be with us, quenching our thirst and satisfying our hunger for Your word and Your presence so that we can be fulfilled in You and glorify Your holy Name. As we are blessed, we bless others taking Your glory to those who need deliverance.
