But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.      John 15.26

We are still not fully aware of what the baptism in the Holy Spirit means. When Jesus was baptized in the waters of the Jordan, He received Him, and then, before beginning His ministry, He was taken to the desert to be tempted by the devil. Can it be that something similar happens to us? Are the temptations that surround us like signs that we have the power, and because of that, God allowed us to go through some difficult trials? 

There is much more in the Gospel than we can think of, and because of that we must get to know what was done in our favor at the death of Jesus and when the Helper came. God wants us to mature spiritually just like it happens to us mentally and physically speaking. Now, as adults, we can get married, have kids, and at the same time, not get involved in temptations, for He has given us the capacity to resist the devil´s offers. 

We were given the Spirit to fulfill the will of God. With Him, we have the Lord´s assistance 24 hours a day. However, we must read and meditate on the Word, pay attention to sermons and to the testimonies that we hear for this is how He guides us and teaches us what to do and how to do. Those who don’t read the Bible and don’t give ear to the divine message will not know how to act whenever they are tempted. 

The Spirit testifies that the work of Jesus for us was complete and He teaches us how to act in order to take hold of what was set and done for us. It is important for us to examine the Scriptures, for, without it, we will miss much. It is the map we have to follow in order to fulfill the Father´s purpose. The Holy Spirit is the Guide that will tell us everything He has heard concerning us. The Most High doesn’t have anything else to do for the sake of our happiness, but we surely do have a lot to do. 

He never lies, fails or forsakes us, for He is the Spirit of Truth. When some part of the Word shines before your eyes and you understand that that is the will of the Lord for your life, grab on to such revelation and don’t let go of it. At the right time, you will use it and it will be fulfilled. There is no such thing as being guided by the Spirit and not seeing that which He says come true. What makes the difference is your faith. 

Those that receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit act like the Lord Jesus. The Master did not act on His own, but He followed the Father´s instructions. Thus, when He felt it was time to preach a message or determine something, He did so with the assurance that that would be fulfilled. This is how God expects all His children to act: allowing Him to guide them in all situations. 

The meaning of the word Paraclete is Helper, someone who stays close to help, defend and make righteousness prevail. The Holy Spirit was given to you to do exactly that. Therefore, after knowing how you must act, don’t go astray from the Word. Stay alert, because you will receive new instructions.
