04/10/2016 - THE THIRST WAS TAKEN FROM THEM

And they did not thirst When He led them through the deserts; He caused the waters to flow from the rock for them; He also split the rock, and the waters gushed out.    Isaiah 48.21

Setting the Israelites free from slavery would be unthinkable today, despite the resources we have. However, by faith, Moses forced the greatest empire of that time to give up on a multitude that worked for Pharaoh without any payment. What is most striking is the time that the heirs of the promise made to Abraham spent as slaves, as if they were not entitled to any eternal rights. How many people are in this same situation for not knowing the truth?

The Most High made the children of Israel not feel any thirst during their way to Canaan. Suddenly, the desire to drink water ceased. This teaches us that the Lord can intervene in situations of need. Many times, a person travels far from home, where they spent several days, and don’t take their spouse. When they come back, they reveal that they suffered a lot because they missed their spouse. If this happens, pray so that this feeling is removed while you are away.

The prophet said that God lead His people through the desert. In our journey to heavenly Canaan, we too are taken to inhospitable places. In them, not only we don’t find any comfort, but we also find well set up traps; therefore, we will need help. If we are guided by the Most High, we will be delivered from thirst and other needs and we will not feel any of that. God is tremendous!

Among the Israelites, there were people who let themselves be carried away by temptations and left divine presence; then, they went back to feeling the normal symptoms for the things of life which had been removed from them. We must be aware to the proposals of the enemy, who will come unnoticed, with his temptations; then, if we are not vigilant and praying, we will fall in his traps. If this happens, we suffer a great deal.

When they sinned, their thirst came back. Therefore, they cried out, and God made the waters flow from the rock. This Rock was Jesus, who also has love, happiness, peace and the other fruits of the Spirit to fulfill and strengthen us, so that we may run with endurance that race that is set before us (Hebrews 12:1). God is infinite in His capacity to supply our needs in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). So then, don’t get carried by any want, but supply all things with the faith in the Son of God.

The Lord is ready to split the Rock and quench our thirst. Now, once He is Almighty, not only can He give us water, but healing, financial help, wisdom and other blessings. What wouldn’t God do to keep us alive in His presence and help us to fight the good fight until we finish the race, keeping our faith? See what you need Him to do for you, and, afterwards, go to the Word and pay attention to it.

The waters shall flow every time God determines. Therefore, seek to live in communion with Him by not giving in to any temptation. Remember: only those who are in holiness will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). Do whatever needs to be done so that you don’t get involved with the lies of the enemy. Your time to change and live the faith in Jesus is now!

In Christ, with love,

Lord! You surprise us through Your capacity and will of doing the best for us to live well. Therefore, we can ask You to meet our needs. It is so good to live in Your presence!

Today, we grow a little bit more in the understanding of Your great love and, from now on, we know that whenever we need any help, we can count on Your grace, which eliminates the thirst of an entire nation so that it will learn to fear and respect You.

We pray for those who go through hardship, and thus, get weak and sick, whether they are saved or not. If everyone learns to serve You, they will also enjoy of what You´ve done for Your people in the desert. May humanity recognize You as Lord! Amen!
