30/03/2017 - THE VOICE OF RESURRECTION

Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!" John 11:43

If a movie were made of what happened before Lazarus’ grave and it were presented, certainly we would be extremely marveled. On seeing Life before the tomb, ready to extract who had been dead there for four days, we would learn a great deal. This is what we must read, examine and understand in the biblical reports. On coming forth, Lazarus showed no signs of bodily decay in spite of the natural process of death and corruption that should have advanced in his body.

We must take the Savior to the person who has a problem with no solution, so that this person abandons sin or is healed of an incurable disease, like cancer or AIDS in its terminal stage. We do not limit the Lord in His feats; we have to learn what to do for Him to work His miracles like He did in other times. Jesus does not consider expressions like “It is useless! It is hopeless! It is lost!” He is life in action!

On that day Jesus yelled at the top of his lungs for Lazarus to rise and come out of the tomb. The dead do not understand what goes on in our world but they do know this: when the Redeemer calls them they will know that it is time to come back to life. This is why the Christ called him by name; because he wanted to revive Lazarus. When he heard Jesus he understood and obeyed immediately.

One day, the son of God will command all that are in the grave over all the Earth to rise up. Even if they are at the furthest possible point in the Universe, they will hear Christ, the Creator of all things and will resurrect. Imagine what will happen on Judgment Day, when He inquires each and every one concerning what they did and covered up from others! Mercy!

Don’t be averse to God’s voice because it convinces and invites to a rebirth. You will have no excuse if you do not accept your day of visitation. Those who disdain or neglect divine grace will lament or regret for ever having done this. Only fools pass up on the chance to surrender to the Almighty. To realize and recognize your sinful rebellious and fallen conditions and accept salvation is the most important and beautiful act of your life.

Before commanding Lazarus to come out, Jesus ordered that the stone that sealed the tomb be removed. Verify and check what it is that you must remove that is blocking you and get to work; or else there can be no work done by God. You’re the judge as to what is happening with your life. If Mary and Martha had refused to remove that obstacle, even having before them the Resurrection and the Life, their brother would have remained there until the last day.

That moment, Martha almost prevented God’s work, as she was thinking on the natural side of things (v39b). So, lovingly, Jesus reminded her what He had said: if she believed she would see the Glory of God! (V40). Don’t keep anything that smells wrong in your heart so that you don’t lose the day of visitation. Remember Jesus is Lord and when He speaks, He speaks with authority. Obey Him!

In Christ, with Love,

R. R. Soares

Oh God! What a sight! How great it would be if we had it recorded. To see Your Son standing before the tomb, ordering the dead to come out, must have been beautifully wonderful. One day I will hear that voice.

Help us to remove the rock that hinders Your work in us. Those who think in human terms only want to hide, not remove! But it is essential to remove these obstacles for You to do Your work in us.

Those who think like Martha don’t know what they are losing. We can only sense the soft gentle aroma of Christ in Your operations.
