Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I. Psalm 142.6

One of the indications that a person is far from God is when he feels very low. However, the sign that this person will come back to the Lord is when he decides to speak the truth. He who lies is in connection with the devil (Jo 8.44), unless this person repents and confesses his sin before the Lord, asking for forgiveness. The Word of God cannot be changed merely because someone does not want to feel embarrassed for his actions. He who speaks truth declares righteousness (Proverbs 12.17).

Sin causes the Lord’s strongest servant to be cast down. A person who has no courage to seek the one he offended and confess his error commits sin. The same way as he who speaks truth declares righteousness, he who speaks lies gives to the kingdom of unrighteousness sovereignty over his life. David said he was brought very low; had he not cried out for mercy, his end would have been very sad.

A person who does not make an effort, in the spiritual sense, to overcome is a slave to the enemy, and the only way for him to be delivered is to cry out for God’s help. The evil spirit who overcame this saved person will not let go of him very easily. Note that, when the king of Israel cried out to the Lord, he asked that his soul would be delivered. If he were lying, or covering his sins, his prayer would not have been answered (Proverbs 28.13). Make a decision: do you want to be delivered or remain in prison?

Jesus was straight-forward when he said that we must seek the person with whom we have a dispute (Luke 12.58). On the Great Day, if you are not reconciled to your brother, you will be delivered to the torturers (Matthew 18.34). Forgiveness is an ordinance of which Jesus warned us as part of God’s judgment (Matthew 5.23-25). He who does not forgive will be brought before the just Judge to hear his sentence. There is no way God will forgive you, if you do not forgive your debtors.

Once you have given into the temptation of withholding forgiveness, your persecutors will be unrelenting. However, if you are wise and fulfill God’s commandment, your soul will be freed from prison. Only then you will be able to truly praise the name of the Lord. Instead of persecutors, the righteousness will surround you.  The Most High is giving you a chance; for some people, it may be the last chance. Your decision will guide the judgment and will make you happy or sad for all eternity.

Do not play with the forces of darkness. The demons cannot oppress only those who have fellowship with the Lord. Since they are spiritual beings, evil spirits are stronger than men (Hebrews 2.7). Nevertheless, any child of God who walks in his presence is stronger than all of them together. Why shouldn’t you follow the plan laid down by the Lord and be free forever? As soon as you seek the person you have offended, make things right with him, and you will be used by the Lord.

Cry out, believe and reconcile with the Almighty God and with your brother. Then, in the blink of an eye, your deliverance will take place. God is looking at your heart at this very moment. He wants to deliver you. What will you do? Let the Lord carry out his plan for your life!

In Christ, with love,

Eternal God, you have made us a little lower than the angels. Demons are fallen angels, therefore they are stronger than us, human beings. But with your help, and with your power, we can overcome all of them. We want to serve only you and live exclusively to please you, Lord.

Without you, we are the weaker part, but with you, Father, we are the stronger part. That is why we cry out for power. We cannot remain cast down, once we have already been enlightened by your Word. Now, as children of the light, we ask you for power to make this light shine more and more.

I know that you will deliver all those who bow before you, Lord. Our persecutors already know that we will be delivered, since you have called us to be members of your body. Lord, with your power we will be stronger than all our persecutors.
