And all Israel heard of the judgment which the king had rendered; and they feared the king, for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.  1 Kings 3.28

The Lord ordered Israel to hear His statutes and judgments, so that they would fulfill and live them. Thus, they would enter and possess the land that had been promised to them. Canaan symbolizes the Gospel, and if we want to enter and possess it, we already have the orientation of how to proceed. Whoever rejects the Lord’s counsel stays outside of the New Alliance and inside the hands of the enemy.

The Israelites could not add or subtract anything from the Word; if they did so, they would not have the conditions to keep His commandments. It is not correct to create doctrines that are only apparently “beautiful” or “good”, because they serve for nothing and will harm people. In the book of Revelation, the Lord deals with this (Rv 22.18) and ratifies that whoever acts in such a way does not receive his blessing and is struck by plagues.

One example of misdirection happened in Baal Peor, when Balaam taught the Moabites to be stumbling blocks for the sons of Israel. These women managed to seduce many of them, leading them towards perverse behaviors, and probably, other wicked acts. Nowadays, the same evil will happen to him who surrenders to debauchery. Nothing that is not inside of the natural marriage is permitted to the children of the Lord.

However, those who repented and got closer to the Almighty were forgiven and remained alive. In the same way, it will happen today to those who are involved with sinful sexual habits. If they ask God for forgiveness, they will be forgiven and will not be inside the enemy’s will. Certainly, there are many people suffering in the hands of the devil because of their non-biblical attitudes.

The Scriptures’ teachings must be practiced in the Gospel – the land where we inhabit. We cannot adopt the practices of the Moabites, Canaanites, or other people, who since they were stubborn and acted sinfully, they were driven away from the place that they occupied for centuries. Now, the land and its fullness, and all who inhabit in it belong to the Lord (Ps 24.1). The rebels will see that it is not good to challenge the Most High!

The Word orders us to keep the statutes – set of laws, judgments, and precepts created by God and revealed in His Word, for they are our wisdom and understanding. The saved ones should be careful to understand them and execute them. We must be holy, for the Lord is holy (1 Peter 1.16). Whoever does not attend the voice of God must be prepared to perish in the hands of the one he chose to be his master – the devil.

Therefore, we will see that the Most High is different than the “gods” from other religions. Besides, we will be great in His presence and will have Him acting in our favor every time that we call for Him. He promised to be in the midst of the saved and be their God. Those who followed the divine orders will contemplate how the Lord is good, gracious, and merciful.
