She bowed down with her face to the ground and said, “I am your servant and am ready to serve you and wash the feet of my lord’s servants.” 1 Samuel 25.41

The story about Abigail and David was written in heaven. All stories of those who serve God should be like this. They showed they feared the Lord and let Him use them. When the Most High has a plan for His sons’ lives, it will come to pass. Therefore, we should not be in a hurry to overcome time and seasons that the Father established by His own power (Prov. 19.2). If you have the fear of the Lord you will never be in a hurry.

When David asked Nabal to help him, Nabal not only refused to supply the needs of the already anointed king of Israel. He also sent David a humiliating message. Nabal and his entire house didn’t have a tragic ending because of Abigail’s prudence and wisdom. She was deeply spiritual and that moved the future king’s heart. When he knew she became a widow, he proposed her. An act of faith is powerful for those who fear the Lord (1 Sam 25).

David respected Abigail as a married woman even when he was impressed by her posture. What comes from God doesn’t need to be in a hurry. The Lord knows the details to make His will happen. Many people lose the opportunity to be powerfully used by God in the future because they don’t resist the temptations in the present. They don’t know it is part of their training.

The way people surrender to God’s will is what directs a person’s attention to those who have the Spirit of the Lord. Nabal’s wife had the fear of the Lord and she was used as a prophet. David didn’t maculate his hands doing his own justice. He waited God’s answer because of Abigail’s acts. The justice from the Most High is always the best option.

Abigail should be very happy to spend her life close to a man who loved the Creator. Therefore, he knew how to love her. No doubt, she had an important role to accomplish the mission David received from the Lord. She was a woman of faith and she loved the Lord. She helped David a lot, bringing words of courage, consolation and instruction. She came to complete the respect he had towards the Lord.

Abigail’s answer was against anyone that thought she was taking advantage of the situation. Her modesty was greater than her beauty. Therefore, she was accredited and blessed. We should give ourselves to the Lord as she did. Those who are members of the Body of Christ must always be ready to wash the feet of the weaker, the poor and the forgotten (Jo 13.14, 15).

If a person thinks he or she is the greater or is too important to listen to others, God can’t use him or her. The Most High is never wrong in His choices. And those who have patience to wait for His deeds will live His wonderful favor.

In Christ, with love

Omniscient God! May we speak to You the same words Abigail spoke to Your servant David. She knew he was an anointed one. And for her, it was a big pleasure to be part of his life. A man You sought out after Your own heart.

She showed to Jesse’s son her greatest beauty – to be Your servant. May all my brothers and sisters that read this message do the same. God loves the meek, promotes the modest, but He opposes the proud.  Thank you for taking care of us!

May all of us understand Your word and do Your will. When we arrive in heavens we will understand Your beautiful plans. Thank you for calling us and for giving us Your love. May the Lord be praised!
