He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor. Proverbs 22:9

It is not sufficient to just look at God’s promises, one must hold expectations, believing the Lord will show something of value, and with this you will solve your problems.  God blesses you according to the way you look at Him.  If you believe He only cures headaches, that’s all you will get.  However if you believe He can cure cancer and other incurable illnesses, that’s what He will do. In your life, the Almighty is as big as you make Him to be.

Those who look disdainfully on what is shown to them one day will ignore the blessing and will love the curse; which will bring a series of evils upon them.  On the other hand those who hold great expectations of that which the Lord will do in their favor will receive exactly what they expected or hoped for.  He who has a generous eye, great expectations and faith that the Lord can do marvelous wonders will reach the Lord’s favor.  His blessings will be the size of their faith.

According to Jesus, if one’s eyes are bountiful, their entire bodies will be wonderful, but if their eyes are not good, they will be gloomy. (Matthew 6: 22,23)which shows that the quality of attention you give to the Word will be the quality of attention that He gives to you.  Do not diminish what Christ can do in your life, as for Him there is nothing too great that cannot be done (Jeremiah 32:27).  Those who allow the Omnipotent freedom to operate in their lives will be rewarded.

To have a generous eye means to look at what God says about the lost and so then, to give of their bread to the poor whether they be poor in material resources or not.  Even if someone is a billionaire, by not having faith in Jesus, they are nothing other than poor, naked and miserable.  If a son of God has love and goes to them, ministering the Word and they believe, both the sewer and the rich will be so blessed with many good things, that both will be surprised at the goodness of the Omnipotent.

In the time of Jacob, during a dream, God revealed to him what He did so that His servant would grow rich, since Laban was astutely plotting against his life.  So then when Jacob’s father-in-law changed his salary, paying with the sheep that were spotted, God removed the desire to reproduce from the goats that were not spotted avoiding the birth of sheep that were striped or spotted. When Laban changed the payment to striped or spotted sheep, God would do the same (Genesis 30).

As heirs to the Promise, we can’t look at what the lost do but yes we can look to Jesus, the Author and Consumer of our faith.(Hebrews 12:2)  So don’t let the enemy use your vision; if you do allow him he will fool you completely since he is malignant.  See yourself as a blessing that the Father made you to be.  If you have had ill intended thoughts, talk to the Lord, and just like He controlled the male goats in Jacob’s payments he will directly control you too.

I want you to think about two divine recommendations.  First, do not love sleep, for if you do you will grow poor; secondly open your eyes of your soul to feast on the true bread.  Place your attention on the promises so that God will then cover you with His gifts and will fulfill all He has promised in your favor.  Be that person that the Almighty planned you to be: a new Jacob!

In Christ, with love,

Lord, our Counselor!  We do not want to just look at Your promises and do nothing, for if we act this way we will frustrate You. What You promised us will do us great good; so we thank You for Your understanding!  You are tremendous!

That we may have generous eyes, and give of our bread to those in need.  Teach us to see You as we should, so You can look at us in the same way.  Then we will be able to give You more than what we have given so far.  It is wonderful to serve You!

We can’t look at the Word with contempt.  We want to see Your great works as our brothers saw in the past.  This way we will be useful to Your work, bringing You the most perfect of praises.  We love you!
