But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay My hand on Egypt and bring My armies and My people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. Exodus 7.4

Those who sell themselves to the devil cannot listen to the Lord, the voice of Truth, because their interior is dominated by evil. The further they go from God, the more they plan and execute evil, without mercy. We must be very careful with those who let themselves be led by temptations, who have pleasure in the wrong things and do not fear the Lord. When the enemy incites them, they will obey him and will rise against the righteous.

Sinning is worse than what is thought of it. It “sells” the child of God to the devil, who then takes control over the person. Almost always, the first transgression is lying. He deceives his neighbor and himself more and more. The sinner’s attitude is even comical. Since he does wrong and does not want to be caught, he creates fantasies to disguise his involvement with the Father of Lies.

Pharaoh thought he had the right to enslave the heirs of the Lord’s promises. His orders had to be fulfilled and he was accountable to no one. Since he did not want to listen to the Most High’s voice, which called him to prudence and repentance, he saw God’s heavy hand upon Egypt. Thus, Pharaoh and his people recognized that only One is truly king over all the kingdoms of the Earth. This is what happens to those who do not fear God.

Because of Pharaoh’s hardened heart, the Most High had to send ten plagues that almost destroyed that nation. The angels of God who protected not only the Israelites, but also the Egyptians, received the order to leave that country. The angels also keep the people who do not serve the Lord, so that they may have an opportunity to repent. Thus, the Egyptians noticed the mistake of not having recognized the divine goodness.

After the armies of the Lord left, Egypt entered in such a downfall that it never returned to its former glory, even if they tried hard. In the same way, those who have a chance and do not bow before the Truth, discover later their great mistake. Why shouldn’t you give attention to the Most High’s words? Since we are His creatures, we must get things right with Him so that we may not be destroyed.

God had promised to take His people away from that land of oppression, and Pharaoh should know that it would happen. The Lord is not a god fabricated by man; He is the true Creator of all things, and knows what to do so that none of His people may suffer in the hands of the enemy. The Israelites came out of that embarrassing situation because God decreed so. The king of Egypt would never oppress them again.

The worst day of Egypt came! God’s great signs were operated. All of this happened because of the evil in the heart of the leader of that nation. In the same way, this has happened with many families, and perhaps even with yours. Until when will you refuse to serve the Lord and answer His orders?
