“They have corrupted themselves; they are not His children, because of their blemish:  A perverse and crooked generation.

Deuteronomy 32:5

From Abraham’s calling until the settlement of the Israelites in the Promised Land, centuries went by. In a tremendous effort, God used servants to carry out His plan. But when the children of Israel sinned, He forsook them because they did not repent. This should serve as a warning to those who are called to do God’s work because the Lord is holy and under no circumstance will He tolerate those who blemish themselves with any transgressions. To prevent this from happening to us, we have to conduct ourselves with wisdom and in so doing we will please the Lord.

The Almighty cannot walk with anyone who indulges in sin because the corrupt is an ally of the enemy. The individual who gets carried away by temptation is disconnected from the Father. As a result, he is held hostage by the spirit of error and ends up living in immorality, dishonesty, disobedience, greed, etc. Those who fall into temptation and separate from the Lord will be forsaken.

He who fails to walk by faith and, as a consequence, commits iniquity carries the stain of his actions and defiles himself but not the work of God. The work is done by Him and He will not use those who yield to sin. The minute someone accepts in his heart what the devil says then he or she is no longer used by the Lord. Such individual may have experience and speak the language of God’s people, but will have no divine assistance.

We are called to be the generation of victorious and consecrated people who walk with God and, therefore, we are instruments in His hands. However, he who fails to follow the Lord and, unwilling to convert, comes up with means of talking people into believing that he is being used by the Lord, will realize that whatever he did was work of man without any participation of the Holy Spirit. Besides not receiving a reward, he who doesn’t fulfill his mission will be punished.

Watching and praying are commands given by Jesus to His children (Matthew 26:41). Failing to do that is a transgression and the result is being excluded from the blessings. Why being carried away by sin instead of giving God the prerogative to guide your steps in His ways? Those who are led by the Holy Spirit bear witness of how much it is worth being a child of God. He can only be the Father of those who want to be His children.

The Most High is overjoyed when He sees His children’s heart full of wisdom. He is not pleased when they become religious but when they’re wise. Bear in mind that wise is he who is guided by the Holy Spirit and therefore his strength becomes much greater than that of the enemy.

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
