21/09/2015 - THEY DREW WATER AND POURED IT

So they gathered together at Mizpah, drew water, and poured it out before the Lord. And they fasted that day, and said there, “We have sinned against the Lord.” And Samuel judged the children of Israel at Mizpah. 1 Samuel 7.6

There were more instructions for the people of God to be delivered from the Philistines. That was why Samuel convoked them at Mizpah. In everything that the Lord orientates us, there is always a reason that we only understand later. There is nothing more unpleasing than seeing a member of the church giving their impressions on how should a spiritual work be led. If there is this spirit of discord in you, remove it from your heart.

The trip to Mizpah was supposed to be long, difficult, and tiresome, just like the multitude that followed Jesus and then was healed (Mk 3.7-10). He only multiplied the fish and bread when all had seated in groups of 50 and 100 people (Mk 6.40-43). It does not matter how much it costs to obey the divine orders. Besides always going ahead opening the way, the Lord grants the necessary conditions for you to accomplish what He determined.

When they gathered with the prophet, the Israelites received more information from the Most High. Never complain about “climbing up the mountain” with the Master, for in this place, there will be a heavenly show only for the called and the obedient, as it happened with Peter, James, and John (Mt 17.1,2). If the Lord is already guiding your steps, do not lose any of His instructions, for they will be fundamental for you to obtain victory.

Those people were supposed to draw water and pour it before the Lord. It may sound insane, but there was a holy purpose in this attitude. For us, it means that we must “draw” the revelations from the Word – where we may have them in abundance – and pour them before our God. Do this on your own favor and for whomever the Lord leads towards your ministration. This clean and living water cleans your interior from all evil that may still be in you.

The divine work must be done according to the Father’s directions, which will only be possible if we fulfill what He says. Therefore, never question them or ignore them. When we consider one of His orders worthless, the Master becomes silent. Who is man to tell God if something is not good or wise? Therefore, he who has his commandments and keeps them proves his love for the Lord.

It was a day of obedience, fasting, and confession. They would only digest what God would give them. As an occasion of repentance, they despised their own ideas or any evil that may have still been in them. Since they acted in such a way, they allowed the Most High to operate in them. Sometimes, you should take some time to do the same.

After abandoning all evil, the people were ready to see the manifestation of the glory of God. Samuel judged them there, and therefore, their problems were undone. May the Lord judge us and give us the power to reconcile with those we have offended. If you wish to be delivered from your enemies, submit to the heavenly Father.

In Christ, with love,

Merciful and forgiving God! The Israelites wanted to be delivered from the Philistines, who afflicted them. Therefore, Samuel invited them to go to Mizpah. They willingly went and learned with Your servant, who undoubtedly had all the instructions.

Help us to understand Your directions so that we may reach a wise heart. In the same way that they received and were blessed, so we will be. Those people were ordered to get rid of the strange gods and Ashtoreths. Thus, Lord, show us what we must do.

It is necessary to get rid of everything that separates us from You. Help us to take hold of the revelations of the Word and pour them before You to the thirsty hearts. We want to pray, fast, and confess that we have sinned, and at the same time, be justified by You through Jesus.
