Imploring us with much urgency that we would receive the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. 2 Corinthians 8.4

The grace of God makes the holy people listen to the divine direction and cooperate with His work. To care for the needy means to fulfill the Lord’s will. To contribute to the global evangelization represents a very important act before the Most High. Those who make themselves deaf to the touch of the Holy Spirit will repent one day, but when this moment comes, it might be too late. The saved ones should be ready to execute every orientation given by God.

The Macedonians, even in extreme poverty, helped the brethren in Judea that were in great struggle. We must seek to know the state in which our brothers and sisters around the world are in. When we see their need, we need to send them immediate help, for those who are in struggle need more than good words – they need attitudes that prove that they are loved by the members of the Body of Christ.

The Lord chooses those who will contribute with His work around the world, giving them the seed to be planted after they understand that it is part of His divine plan. Thus, these sowers of good things will realize that the reward will be even greater than the money they have sent. Maintain the value that you are offering, for without doubt, this amount has been reserved by the Most High for your own good.

Some of the brethren from Macedonia donated even more than their belongings, proving that the man of God was in that purpose and upon them. If one day the Lord propels you to do something similar do not be worried to obey His command, for this means that He has gone ahead of you, in order to fulfill the divine law of reward in your favor. Giving is better than receiving (Ac 20.35).

The Almighty needs volunteers that obey to His calling, and contribute with their resources, or even more, so that His work might not be shamed. Every order given by the Lord in our regard must be immediately attended. In case someone does not execute them, he will have his reward removed, and will be set apart from the heavenly will. Now, do not dishonor the Most High, for the faithful will be rewarded (Prov 11.18).

The Macedonians asked Paul with much urgency that he might accept what they were doing. This teaches us that if the love of God is in our hearts, if we help our neighbor, and specially a brother in the faith, these are things that we must do, no matter the cost. Whoever does not serve the Most High does not know the satisfaction of being led by the Holy Spirit. For the saved, to serve God is something urgent and necessary.

May this lesson be learned, for the global evangelization must continue. We must apply unmeasured effort to save some more people, snatching them from the fire. It is indispensable to do what we are ordered to do. Even if in tears, we must sow, for we will reap with joy (Ps 126.6).

In Christ, with love,

God of promises! May Your grace help those who are in difficulty and lead them to contribute to the advancement of the Gospel. Thus, they will always have the seed, so that whenever it sprouts, You might give us the bread. Thank You for this law!

We must learn with our Macedonian brothers. Although they were in extreme poverty, they still answered Your touch, and helped the brethren from Judea to fulfill their mission with the seed that You gave.

That desire came from You, for with urgency they asked to be accepted the offers they sent. May this same grace never abandon us, for all around, there are people in need and souls that are thirsty for salvation. Help us to serve You.
