10/01/2013 - This is what envy can cause in you

But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; my steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the boastful, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

Psalm 73: 2, 3

The devil knows that he cannot mess with the lives of those who are born again but he does all he can for the saints to take attitudes that please him. Satan tempts everybody in a variety of manners. Some are even lured into committing adultery; some people act treacherously against others, they lie, they nurture hatred and they even envy the ungodly people who are apparently pretty much prosperous – real evidence that someone is affectively prospering can be seen in how they fear The Lord.

The feet of the psalmist who was a man of God almost tripped over and that was due to his envying the ungodly – if you turn your attention to the lifestyle of those who don’t fear God you’ll come to the conclusion that it’s not worth wishing to possess their riches. Some are well off or live a quite lavish life but that doesn’t mean that they have peace inside. In many cases their riches are not conquered legally and that’s the reason why they have to face problems of consciousness on an off and they’re always wondering what might happen to them next.

Those people who envy the possessions of the ungodly are on the verge of falling. You must remember that the best thing in life is to walk hand in hand with God, stand firm in faith and to secure your dwelling in The Heavens when the time comes. Those who serve The Most High loathe any offering from the devil even though it might be conquering all the glory of the world. That was what Jesus did as He rejected any offering from the devil (Matthew 4: 9, 10).

You mustn’t let anything from your enemy wake in you a desire to do crooked deeds just like he did to Eve. As she was seduced by Satan she realised that that fruit seemed pleasant and appealing in her eyes, a quite tasty fruit which could give her the knowledge she didn’t have and, shortly afterwards, Eve picked up the fruit of wisdom and ate it; then she lured her husband into eating the fruit and so he did. This is how sin got into the world along with death – Satan’s very essence.

Those who are carried away by the enemy’s talk will also get near doom and if they don’t leave quickly the place they’re in at that very moment it turns out that they’ll be engaging in treason and, in doing so, they’ll be opening a room for Satan to get in. For that never to happen you must stand firm in faith and you must never accept any hint from the father of lies (John 8: 44) because his main goal is having you in his hands. Don’t swap salvation and the safety you have in Christ for anything offered by the devil.

A Christian is already delivered from all devilish action. Our Father has taken you into His Kingdom of love and peace and all you’ll experience is happiness along with Him. If your prosperity is a divine plan God shall open the doors for you to become prosperous. If our Creator has another purpose for your life you must accept it with joy because The Most High’s plans in store for you are the best ever for you to enjoy.

Most probably many of my friends are facing the same problems the psalmist was at that point. They’re on the verge of stumbling and ready to go down to the grave. If that effectively happens you can be certain that their future will be quite awful and dark. On the other hand, those who love Jesus are never carried away by anything from the enemy and that’s the reason why they shall spend eternity in Glory side by side with The Saviour.
