Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. Deuteronomy 8.6

Deuteronomy chapter 8 brings a series of very precious lessons for those who are saved. The Israelites were taken to natural Canaan, the physical land that God had promised to give them. We are being led to the Gospel, the true Land of Promise. It is wise not to doubt of the capacity of our God in guiding and planting us in the true land, in which we will never lack anything.

The Lord’s first exhortation was for them to keep the commandments, so that they would live, enter, and possess the land that had been promised to their parents, and so that they would multiply there. Therefore, we must act in the same way with the Gospel, so that we may live, enter, possess the “land” that Jesus conquered for us and then be multiplied. There are a lot of good things for you to enjoy, and they will all be revealed to you by Scriptures.

Do not be surprised with the temptations that come to your heart, for they are part of the teaching and trial that the Lord allows you to go through. Those who fall into temptations give up walking besides the Father because of the problems they face. Thus, they rebel against the orders of Heavens. Some look behind and desire the onions and garlics from Egypt (Nm 11.5), but these are not fit to enter in the Kingdom of God. However, it is with much patience that you will gain these people’s souls.

Many times, we are humiliated by our own brethren. Some exaggerate in persecuting us and saying lies about us. This must be reason for rejoicing, for our reward is great (Lk 6.35). If you feel hungry for the Truth and for the manifestation of the divine justice, believe that God is your Protection, and when the trial is over, He will reward you with many blessings.

When you got converted, it was all about happiness, isn’t it true? Today, however, it seems like the clothes of joy that the Lord dressed you are old, and that you do not have pleasure anymore in going to the house of God or in fulfilling the commandments. Do not act in such a way, for it was because of this that the Israelites walked for 40 years in the desert. Return to the Most High, and your happiness will return.

Instead of letting your heart be hurt, God orients you to confess that He is disciplining you because He is your Father. Do not reject this discipline or do not stretch your hands to get something that the Most High has not given you. He is your Father and knows the exact hour in which you are prepared to assume what He desires to give you. If you were not a child, He would not have so much care in teaching you. Believe, and you will see the glory of God!

At last, keep God’s commandments. If you do so, you will fear Him, respect Him, and walk in His ways. The Lord knows how to prepare all His children to the great works that wait for them. Never let bitterness, rage, complaining, and grudging enter in your heart.

In Christ, with love,

Most High God! We are almost not taught about what the Gospel has for us. Though the Word says that the things that happened in the Old Testament were a figure of what happens now, we have not paid proper attention to this truth.

The people of Israel walked for 40 years in the desert, but You supplied all of their needs. However, everything that happened to those people in that long walk consisted of precious lessons, so that they would humble themselves and learn to serve you wholeheartedly.

We know that if the Israelites had kept the commandments, they would have learned to respect You and walk in Your ways. Oh, Lord, this is what we need! Therefore, help us to fulfill Your orders so that we may learn how to respect You and proceed according to Your will.
