When the men had come to Him, they said, “John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’ Luke 7.20

Unlike some people think, to come close to Jesus is easy. He invited all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him, and promised to give them rest (Matthew 11:28). But where and how can we find Him? By faith, through the revelation of the Word of God. The encounter with Christ changes the life human life. It is impossible not to follow Him after having found Him. Try doing this!

If there is sin in your heart, you will not be able to come before the Lord. If there is any error in you, it will be hard even to pray, for the person who comes close to God must believe He exists – that His Word is the Truth and He will not let Himself be fooled. However, once you are in communion with Him, you are a free man – that which separated you from God.

The disciples of John told him about what the Master did, and soon he told them to ask Him if He was the one who was to come or if they should look for another. Both John and Jesus knew what the answer was, for, if He spoke outside of what the Father had determined, He would not be the Messiah. So, immediately, the Lord healed many sick people and told them to tell John about what they had seen and heard.

We call recognize the presence of God in the fullness of joys that it brings. If we are praying, reading the Bible, listening to the preaching of the Word or meditating in the Word and out heart rejoices in a supernatural way, then we can be certain that He is visiting us. At that very moment, all that we ask – determine in His Name -, in accordance to what is revealed to us in the Word, He will do.

Both of John´s disciples came back with the Good News. It is necessary to be in communion with God, because a messenger of the enemy can come to us with evil intentions. Then, with a simple word, we will find out what is behind that person and we will know how to cast out that wolf disguised in sheep’s clothing. Those who walk with the Father know that they will never be confused, but they will be loved by Him.

When you are at church, or reading the Bible, stay alert to what He will minister. Remember that two will not walk together unless they are agreed (Amos 3:3). This is the code that is in the Scriptures. If we create a separate rule, God will not accept it. In order to come close to Jesus and please Him, you must walk like He walked here on Earth – by doing the will of the Father.

Just like Naomi´s family had a relative who redeemed Ruth, we also have a Redeemer in Jesus. Therefore, we should never lest despair or any other thing lead us to give up the walk. Even if it is hard to do what God tells us, with the Lord, we will always make things right. He gives us the authority in His Name.

In Christ, with love,

Beloved Savior! What a privilege the disciples of John had when they were sent to You to ask You if You were the One who was to come. They stood face to face with You. Thus, they had the opportunity to contemplate You and see You ministering blessings.

You invited those who labor and are heavy laden to come to You. However, today, we can only contemplate You with our eyes of faith. It would be good if we could also see Your joyful and beautiful face. Then, we would be greatly blessed and we would exult in Your presence.

Allow us to know You better by the Word, for this is how You reveal yourself to Yours, and thus we will be satisfied. We know that in eternity, we will know You just like we are known by You. Therefore, we ask You to reveal Yourself more to us because we love You!
