It shall come to pass in the day the Lord gives you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear and the hard bondage in which you were made to serve. Isaiah 14.3

The Lord announced the glorious day in which His Son would defeat the devil and the powers of darkness much before it actually happened. After the death and resurrection of Jesus, the kingdom of hell had a great loss, for Satan’s authority was taken away, and he is no longer able to dominate humanity. Now, the enemy cannot oppress whomever he wants, and at the same time, we have received rest from our sorrow, fear, and hard bondage.

No one who accepts Jesus as Savior must suffer from the enemy’s harsh attacks. We have been transported from the kingdom of death to Jesus’ kingdom. We have received complete remission of sins, access to the promises, and deliverance from all kinds of oppression. Even though the devil may insist in oppressing you, do not give in to him. Assume your position in Christ and make the devil flee.

The triple rest that was promised has been accomplished and delivered. Now, it all depends on our attention concerning the Scriptures, so that what it says about our lives may become true. If we do not enjoy the things that Jesus conquered, we may have a problem when the day of redemption comes. After all, what He has done for us must not be wasted, just as when He multiplied the five loaves of bread and the two fish (Mt 14.19).

We do not need to work intensely during our fasting, prayers, or any other spiritual sacrifice to obtain what our Beloved has given us. The coming of Jesus to the world and His death happened so that we would have rest from our struggles. Thus, since we are in the Kingdom of God, we do not allow access to the enemy. Now, if he comes to tempt us with suffering or any sinful offer, we must rebuke him and send him away.

Before Christ defeated the devil, destroying the principalities and taking away the authority that they stole from Adam, the enemy dwelled on this earth as if he were its owner. Satan even got to the point of showing the Son of God the kingdoms of the world with all its glory, and offered it to Him if the Master bowed and worshipped him. Jesus’ answer was straightforward: that he should leave, because only God must be worshipped and served (Mt 4.9,10).

Now we are free, and we need not to tremble before any attack from evil. Therefore, no Christian should live in affliction, agitated and desperate, because since they received Jesus as their Savior, they have entered God’s promised rest. Now, the only thing that can make us suffer is sin. Therefore, we will not submit anymore to the evil one’s will, but calmly and with confidence, we will take hold of everything that Jesus has done for us.

The hard bondage still exists for those who have not been born again. This is humanity’s great tragedy. Those who are not born of the water – the Word – and the Holy Spirit will not see or enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever you are, do not be led by the enemy’s deceptive talk, but be firm in the faith in Christ, for your salvation is guaranteed.

In Christ, with love,

Lord, who gives us rest! You have already fulfilled what You promised. Only those who do not know what Jesus did on Calvary or that do not want to believe in Your Word are subject to a life of sorrow, fear, and hard bondage.

There is no way the enemy can attack Your children any longer, for they are united to Your love. All our infirmities, pains, iniquities, and transgressions have already been suffered by Your beloved Son.

Anyone who believes can assume their position in You and move from being oppressed to being freed, from being sick to being healed, from being lost to being saved. Whoever believes in Jesus has been given the power to do Your work. We are so grateful for this. Amen!
