Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.  For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name.

Psalm 33:20-21

The secret to achieving victory is to trust in the Lord with our soul. Our mind may be focused on believing in what He says, but if our real self – our heart – does not believe, then it will all be of no avail. He who trusts the Almighty wholeheartedly will have Him as their help and shield; and the sign that He is in control of your life is having a joyful heart.

There is no trust in God without faith in Jesus’ Name; this is how we become winners. It’s not possible for someone to be successful if they don’t believe in what the Almighty speaks. Trusting the Almighty means not doubting His Word. Those who thrive and succeed in any area of life and think that because of that they are special and that adversities will never befall them are just fooling themselves. Well, there is no guarantee of immunity against the forces of evil, except to those who trust in the Almighty.

Such trust in the Lord must proceed from our heart because though our mind might be well-oriented and willing to believe in what God says, the faith that truly gets the divine justice into action is the one that comes from the heart. Mental faith is good when it comes to matters pertaining to this life, but only to a certain extent, because when the ordeals are brought by infernal powers the situation becomes complicated and then only the real faith provides the solution to the problems.

Oftentimes, the greatest difficulty is not pain, illness or any threat, but rather the desperation that takes hold of our life. What comes across as the worst case scenario might actually be a trick of the enemy meant to get us out of God’s presence. Therefore, at all times, we need to have self-control because in so doing we will have the Lord as our help, our shield, and it’s in times of crisis that we prove if our faith is real or just a mental assent.

How to know whether or not the Lord is in control of your life? Notice how your heart is when facing difficulties. If it rejoices in the Lord, regardless of whether things are going well or not, you are being led by the Spirit of God. But if at the slightest sign of strife you let despair arise within you, it means you don’t have the Master as your Lord. The peace we have in Jesus gives us complete security.

He who does not trust in the Name of Jesus will never succeed in spiritual life. This Name was given to us so that we act as if we are the Lord Himself. With It we enter the divine presence whenever we want; we rebuke the forces of darkness and undo the evils. The things we have in this Name are beyond our comprehension.

By acting in the name of Jesus we are able to overcome demons, diseases and other evils just as Christ himself. Those who understand the Name of the Lord and use It become a real blessing for everyone. God expects us not to disappoint Him, so let His heart rejoice in our faith and obedience.
