31/01/2015 - TWO EXTREMES: ABOMINATION AND CONTENTMENT

The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.  Proverbs 15.8

The Lord tells us He reacts to our actions in His kingdom in two extreme ways. He can be very happy with us or have a big disapproval. The way you deal with what the Bible says is what leads Him to act. If we have a wicked heart, our prayers will be abominable to His holy eyes. However if we are holy in our actions, He will be happy with us.

If the believer despises holiness he is put apart from the Lord and is guided by a spirit that used to guide him in the past. This demon brings seven other spirits to come in and live in the house (Mt 12.43-45).  And then a sequence of bad things happens for this person who once was a “star” in God’s hands. But now he is an extinguished coal, an evil agent. Have mercy, oh Lord! May this never happen to this reader.

From servant of God he goes down direct to the abyss because he chose a wicked way and despised God’s counseling, although he still is in church and sometimes he fights in prayer not to fall. Nothing can change the way he lives. This person needs someone to love him and intercede for him. May the Lord lift him up and help him!

When the wicked is in danger, he prays, he begs and even to human eyes he surpasses the faithful ones. He may do everything to draw the Lord’s attention. But the Lord looks at the heart (1 Sam 16.7). He judges the prayer’s reason and He knows when to pay attention.  There is something that doesn’t allow him to stop praying inside the person. On the other hand, his weak mind doesn’t condemn him. So he thinks that with sacrifices he will be heard by the Lord.

Nevertheless the Lord warns us that this sacrifice is an abomination for Him. It is something repulsive. Our prayer must be inspired by the Holy Spirit and then He will listen to us. In John 5 verses 34 and 41 Jesus declares that He doesn’t accept human testimonies or glories. Even our worship must come from the Lord or it will not be accepted (1 Cr 29.14). We must be linked to the Father to please the Lord with our prayer.

When a righteous person prays the divine justice comes to the light. This is the purpose of prayer. Pray with other intentions is to play with this important matter. We cry out to change things in us, in our neighbors, in nature. When we pray in a correct manner – like Jesus did during His earthly ministry – the Son of God intercedes for us before the Father and has Him fulfill His will.

Make the Lord happy with your actions. And then He will not deny anything to you. Check the goals of your life. If you don’t honor the Word, if you don’t have as a goal to expand God’s kingdom amongst us, you have carnal reasons. Well, God will not honor what is going to help and make strong the enemy’s work here on Earth.

In Christ, with love

Eternal God! It is good to know You have that you have two attitudes regarding our prayers. This is why we have to search our acts so they are not considered as wicked. Their sacrifices are an abomination to the Lord. Help us, Father!

May You be delighted by our prayers. And then You will do good things. Even if we don’t know how to pray we can have Your guidance. We can pray in a way that pleases You with our words and faith.

May everything we do be for the growth of Your kingdom. May we never think only about ourselves. And then You will tell us what to say and how much faith we need to have for Your will to be done amongst us. Without a doubt, we will succeed!
