24/09/2017 - TWO FEARLESS ELDERS

And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.  Exodus 7.7

It does not matter what is the age of those who serve the Most High. If you are used by the Lord to fulfill a mission, you will be able to do it like any other child of God. The inspiration comes from the Most High; the power is His, and He goes ahead of those who obey Him. How will He not fulfill what He promised you? What happens is that some people, as they grow older, get careless in the faith, and stop giving importance to His commandments.

Paul instructed Timothy to let no one despise him for his young age, because it was important for him to bring life to the gift that had been given to him prophetically. In the same way, those who are of age should be in communion with God, always renewing their youth. Then, as they leave to do the work of God, they must go on the strength of the Almighty, for He will honor them regardless of when they were born.

Josiah had only 8 years when he assumed the kingdom of Judah. Despite being really young, he was a good governor. When he was 16, he started believing in the Lord and sought Him as did David, one of his ancestors. When he was 20, he started to purify Jerusalem and Judah from the works of idolatry and witchcraft. He would have ended his days well, if he had not allowed the enemy to deceive him. He got involved in a war that did not concern him and died.

David was a young shepherd that served God. He used to bring deliverance to Saul, who lived oppressed by a distressing spirit from the Lord (1 Samuel 16:14b). When nobody spoke about deliverance, he was already practicing it by playing the harp to the king. What matters to the young and the old is the respect to the divine work. If you dedicate yourself to the Lord and follow His directions, you will be greatly used by Him.

Zachariah was old, and so was his wife, besides being barren.  When he heard from the angel that he was going to be a father, he should have believed and praised God. However, since he doubted, he became mute until the boy was born. If you lack wisdom to listen to what you should do, ask the Lord. Be honest with Him and talk about your frustrations, temptations, and weaknesses. Tell Him that you will follow His orders, considering that He will give you the means.

What matters is what God says, not what people say. If He anointed you for a task, how will you not do it? Be certain that it is the Lord speaking to you, and not your mind making you delirious. The Most High needs servants that pay Him attention and obey Him. The work in our generation cannot stop because of you.

Moses started to serve the Almighty when he was 80 years old and went until he was 120. The Word says that he never lost his vigor, nor did his eyes darken. Do not feel diminished before the Master because of your age. Your body may have grown old or perhaps it is young, but God is the same. Be the same!

In Christ, with love,

Lord of all! Thank You for remembering us that we have been made by You for a beautiful and unique mission. Even if we grow old physically, we still have a youthful spirit. Thus, we vindicate the power to do Your will as it should be done.

You used Caleb to drive out the Anakites that dominated the land that Moses felt to give them. And when Joshua hesitated, he affirmed that with 85 years of age he had the same strength as when he was 40. May Your servants always think and act this way!

We will not let anyone despise us, for Your anointing over us will act in the same way as when You called and anointed us. We are Your servants and have the capacity to fulfill what You command us. Therefore, use us. Halleluiah, and amen!
