For thus says the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem: “break up your fallow ground, and do not sow among thorns.” Jeremiah 4.3

Jeremiah was not only responsible for addressing this message to the men of Judah and Jerusalem. As a prophet to the nations, he was also used in a way that all humanity would benefit from the divine wisdom and prosper. Today, many people try to reach the divine favor in many ways, but only one will make them successful in the faith. Whoever follows the Scriptures will make the right decision.

God orders you to break up your fallow ground. Now, when the Word is revealed to you, you have your directions. Then, the first step is to plow. This act means to roll the earth using a plowshare or a smaller tool. After, when the time is right and faith comes to your heart, you will have to sow the seed with boldness. When you plow, you destroy the evil thoughts and sinful desires, and thus, the Seed produces what is expected from it.

What for many people is a simple act of admiring the opposite sex, if there has been an impure intention, it is adultery in the spiritual world. If you always have someone in mind that is not your spouse, you must get rid of this temptation. The Good Seed will produce if you pluck away everything that might hinder it from germinating. If this is your sin, go to the Lord and confess it. He will forgive your offense, and then, the Seed will fructify according to its species.

Whoever has any knowledge in agriculture knows not to sow amongst thorns. In the parable of the sower, the thorns are divided into three groups: fascination for riches, the cares of life, and worldly ambitions (Mk 4.19). The devil attempts to make these three groups, or a part of each of them, to exist in you. Thus, you will not be fulfilled in Christ. Therefore, other people will not feel stimulated to use their faith in Jesus.

Jeremiah oriented the sower so that he would not labor in vain, but would achieve good results. There is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life (Luke 18.29,30). Therefore, do not waste the Seed that has been given for you to plant. In the material aspect, if someone plants out of time in bad terrain, he will reap little or nothing; in the spiritual area it will be the same.

Check if there are harmful grasses in your crop and pluck them all out. The writer of the book of Songs (2.15) said that the small things – the little foxes – are those who do harm to the vine. Therefore, a little filthy desire, a small wickedness, or a diabolic pleasure of seeing someone being damaged will be enough for you to be fruitless. This must be taken seriously by the people of God.

What the Lord has planned for you will happen. However, if His seeds fall among thorns, they will be suffocated, not producing according to the divine purpose. Follow the instruction from on High, and your success will be complete. He who works deceitfully will perish.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Holy Farmer! It was Jesus who gave you this title. If we want to get things right in Your crop, we must accept Your orientations about planting and reaping. The first lesson is to deal with Your Word as the incorruptible Seed, which will never fail when planted.

We need Your help to plow the land where we will plant the Good Seed. We must drive away from our hearts all evil, for the harmful grasses hinder the Good Seed from producing according to Your plans.

We cannot sow if we are fascinated by riches, by the cares of life, or by worldly ambitions. You have taught us to act in such a way, ordering us to use the revelations in order to prosper in the spirit, body, and soul.
