Then they took ashes from the furnace and stood before Pharaoh, and Moses scattered them toward heaven. And they caused boils that break out in sores on man and beast. Exodus 9:10

The sixth plague to be poured over Egypt would include physical torments for men and for animals.  God is not mocked (Galatians 6:9) and if He is not acting against the transgressor it is because the chalice is not yet full, but at any given moment He will put an end to this.  Then what ensues will be very grave. Fool themselves those who think that the Lord does not see the evil practiced by anyone;  thinking this way that persons pursues error and causes suffering and loss to himself and to others. God is faithful and just!

Moses and Aaron should fill their fists with ashes from the ovens and Moses would have to spread and shake them towards the sky in front of the Pharaoh.  This way they would turn to fine dust before his very eyes. Now that God was showing his power before the king, this plague would be larger than the five previous ones.  Those who do not listen to the Lord finally see too late how powerful He is to perform His will. To draw oneself away from Him is to draw near to the devil and those who do this will suffer unimaginable horrors.

Those sorcerers used to invoke the god known as Typhon, believing he could protect the Egyptian from any sore. However, when Moses, threw the ashes up towards the sky from any common oven, it was transformed into boils and these became ulcers in the animals and the men. Even the sorcerers and priests were afflicted by these sores. The witches and their god received what was due to them for their lies. One more god was unmasked, exposed and put to shame.

How long would the Pharaoh withstand?  Well, he had only not taken drastic measures against Moses and Aaron, like putting them in prison, for example, because what they said and did was much more than could be expected from any irresponsible with just enough daring and boldness to defy his gods. For this reason the Pharaoh respected Moses and Aaron. Halleluiah!

The king of Egypt was obstinate and would not surrender to the majesty of the Lord.  Alas, the Almighty is patient and wills that everyone know the Truth. Therefore, although some people are unscathed by the mortal attacks of the devil and even disdain the Almighty, one day, when the enemy overcomes them or one of their family members or loved ones, they will realize how wrong they were for not believing in Whom they should believe.

After Moses did what the Lord had commanded, not even the magicians and sorcerers could stand before him. The mange had overtaken the wizards as well as all the Egyptians, but the presence of the Lord was with the man of God.  What a difference!  They that produced the plague realized they could not affect God’s servant.  Those that are saved need to have and exhibit this faith, but unfortunately the majority has suffered like the lost. There is a difference!

In a certain way, the Pharaoh respected Moses because he did not have him arrested and imprisoned.  For sure there were people who pointed to the one taken from the waters as being responsible for all the suffering that was upon them. Nevertheless, the Lord protected the One used by Him, therefore, Moses continued to be a threat to Pharaoh.  Why didn’t Pharaoh seek deliverance from the beast that possessed him?  He did not want to.
