When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, “This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.” Matthew 14.15

Man is a master in giving advices. Even those who are in suffering try to help other people in difficult situations, although they might be in similar circumstances. If you let yourself be taught, there will be no lack of people that will give you advices on the direction that they believe to be right. However, they cannot discover what can make them find the solution to their problems. Only Jesus has the healing for all evil.

It was evening, and the Master’s disciples were restless. They saw the Lord stop whatever he had scheduled to give attention to those who sought Him, and even seeing miracles happening, they could not grasp that Jesus had so much more to show them about the glory of God. They came before the Lord, and said straightforwardly that it was already late and that He should send the multitudes away.

God’s care is greater than man’s care. Of course, Jesus would not make the multitude stay there all day, for people had other activities to do. However, since He sought to give the disciples a precious lesson, He let them speak. As if the Master did not know about it, they told Him that that place was deserted, and that since the hour was late, the multitudes should be sent away so that they could go into the villages and buy themselves food.

Many times, we have the same attitudes as the disciples, and so we waste time. The Lord does not need us to tell Him what to do. In fact, we must keep our ears open for His instructions. He is God, and He knows all. The Father never improvises nor is mistaken in any of His decisions. The same does not happen to us. If we do not have His orientation, we will not make the right decisions.

Never tell the Most High what should be done. It is better to ask Him about what we should speak, how to decide or where should we go. Those who do so and pay attention to what He says will definitely be successful. If we have His direction, even if it seems that nothing will work, we will prove that He knows what He says and does. The Word of God is a light to our path and a lamp to our feet (Ps 119.105).

The Master answered that the disciples should feed those people. Without understanding anything at all, they replied that they only had five loaves of bread and two fish. Then, Jesus asked them to bring the food, and after giving them instructions and seeing that they obeyed them, He blessed and broke the loaves of bread. So they all ate and were filled, and many baskets remained. (Matthew 14:16-12) When Jesus is with us, it will always be so this way.

In Christ, with love,
