Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul. Acts 19.11

The Lord speaks and, if we believe in what He says, the work will be done. However, most of the time, because we are not in communion, we don’t realize He is telling us something. In all that God says there is the essential power to do what He announces. However, this power only works as much as we use our faith. The good thing is to give attention and take hold of what He speaks the moment we get to know it.

Our instrumentality is necessary. If Paul hadn’t believed his handkerchiefs and aprons should be brought to the sick instead of being washed, none of them would have been healed by this special method. Although it´s not written in the Bible, he felt the direction from God he should do that and, like other examples with the same purpose, he followed his faith, and the Lord worked miracles.

If Elijah had rejected the meat and the bread the ravens brought him daily, he would have starved or perhaps he would have surrendered to Ahab. Then, someone could have written that God didn’t take care of His servant. Most assuredly, every time we ask for divine help, it will come; however, because we don’t believe the Lord will hear us, we are taken by incredulity and miss out on the blessing. 

If David hadn’t followed the direction of the Most High, when the Philistines went against him on mount Perazim, he could have seen his kingdom and his life be destroyed by the people who hated him. However, because he believed in the Most High, at the same moment he became a war machine, like the breaking of a dam, and defeated the Philistines. Our faith is important for the Lord God to work.

It was the unbelief of the Israelites that made them walk for 40 years in the desert. Peter’s lack of faith made him sink, when he had already walked some meters in the water. The same thing will happen to the one who despises the Word the Lord God gives. However, the confidence Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego showed when they were threatened to be thrown into the fiery furnace burning seven times more was remarkable.

Philip obeyed the Lord and, in seconds, he was moved to the desert to preach to the eunuch of the queen of Candace. He had the quickest and the most perfect conduction of all times, which is not bad or uncomfortable. Those who obey are always successful in what they do. On the other hand, those who doubt, receive nothing from the Most High.

Jonah could have avoided being swallowed by the great fish and not having spent three days and three nights in the fish’s belly. He could have been transported by the most luxurious “limousine” to Nineveh, but he preferred to go on the opposite way and found out what suffering meant. After Jonah learned that he can’t play with the Most High, God save the Assyrians through this prophet.

Eternal God and Father! When you touch us, we don’t have anything else to ask for except for Your help for us not to lose what You have already given us. Thus, Your strange and simple acts will take place easily, yet, to our eyes, they are great miracles.

In this way You used and listened to Your servants in the past. And it is the same way You listen to Your servants nowadays. May we never be in doubt,  so that Your work always be done. Oh Father, great is our responsibility!

May none of my brothers be led into the belly of a fish, but into the celestial “limousine”. May faith be always respected and carried out by everybody. In fact, Lord, that is what You want for each of Your sons. Thank You, God!
