And he commanded them, saying, “Thus you shall act in the fear of the Lord, faithfully and with a loyal heart:   2 Chronicles 19:9

King Jehoshaphat was reprimanded by the prophet Jehu because of the alliance with Ahab, which almost cost his life. It is necessary to know very well the person whom you become friends to, for, if they don’t fear the Lord, they can put you in danger. Jehoshaphat allowed him to become close to this king who did not fear the Lord, and because of that he almost lost the battle. If he had not cried out for divine mercy, he certainly would have died.

To become relatives to those who are ungodly can bring lot´s of pain and problems, because this person does not fear the Most High, they will not fail to answer what their master tells them to do. Lots of people have discovered that becoming friends or relatives to those who are of the world does not help at all, but can certainly bring much harm. Those who fear God pray and respect the Word before jumping into an alliance.

Jehoshaphat showed that he was a servant of God, for, once he was reprimanded by Prophet Jehu, he bent over before the Word and soon went back to doing the mission he was assigned in the begging of his reign. If you got involved with someone you shouldn’t, ask for divine forgiveness and go back to doing what He has commanded you. Thus, you will attain the Lord´s favor and you will shut the mouth of the enemy. Those who have fallen in any transgression must make amends with the Most High very quickly.

The revelation that good things had been found in him gave him strength to go back throughout Judah and accomplish his assignment of servant who had been entrusted in the position of king. You too can strive to remember what good you have already done to the Gospel. Without a doubt, that happened to you because you were sensible to the will of the Most High. So, this remembrance will help you to connect yourself once again to Him.

Then, in communion with God, Jehoshaphat exhorted the judges to be prudent, for they judged under the guidance and anointing of the Lord. Prudence is always necessary. Even if you don’t have any doubts about a situation, if you are prudent, you will not exaggerate in the sentence and you will still give a word of faith to those who let themselves be fooled by the lies of the enemy. We are dealing with imperfect people who are susceptible to making mistakes.

He also established as judges some of the Levites and priests. Actually, every servant of God can be used by Him in order to have justice prevail in any circumstance.  The important thing is to know how to proceed in all matters, taking those people who are involved in some sort of dispute to recognize that the Law of the Lord is perfect and it restores the soul. Those who are involved in some plea see their soul wear out.

Jehoshaphat ordered everyone to walk in the fear of the Lord with faithfulness and a perfect heart. This is how you must occupy your space in Christ. If everyone was faithful to the commandments with a perfect heart, there would be no litigation amongst us. It is best to suffer the attack than will a battle outside of the faith in God.

In Christ, with love,

Lord of faithfulness and of the perfect heart! By associating himself to Ahab, the king of Judah accredited the irresponsible practices of the king of Israel. You heard and delivered him in battle. You are truly a merciful God.

You sent Jehu to reprimand Jehoshaphat, and so he heard and went back to serving You, going back to the practices of the first works. May my readers who feel they are in error before You remember what they did in favor of the Gospel.

He went back to doing what was determined to him, and therefore, this act was counted to him as righteous. Do not leave this brother or sister of yours idle. If they have fallen and repented, when they go back to doing the mission You have given them, they will connect to You once again. Thank You!
