24/10/2016 - WALK TO PLEASE GOD

Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;  1 Thessalonians 4.1

This should be the people of God’s goal: to know how to walk and to please God. However, there are some things that hinder us from being like Christ. Christ knew how to control situations, get rid of the enemy, and had no limitations on His Ministry. However, it seems different with us. Now, Jesus said that we would do the same works as He did. Undoubtedly, we have a direction in which we should seek the Lord’s answer.

The truth is that we cannot say, with all authority, that people have received from us the proper manner of walking and pleasing God. Our directions are always with so many hypotheses, while in Jesus there was certainty. Paul spoke clearly and gave the right orientation to those who listened to him. Therefore, if we are also made ministers of God, we must have the Master’s same assurance. Or else how will we do the same works?

Why has the seed not grown and produced 30, 60, and 100 for 1, as it happens with everything in the Kingdom of God? Are we in this kingdom or in the realm of the religions? We must face this with all sincerity, without deception, because if the Holy Scripture deserves credit – and it does –, we will be accountable for what we have or have not done by faith in Jesus. Do your children consider you as an example of a servant of the Most High?

Once we understand the way in which we should please our Heavenly Father, we must act in such a way. Let us examine what Christ said about the Seed that did not produce its potential during its life. The Master spoke of the fascination for riches, the cares of life, and worldly ambitions. Inside these three concepts, we find ourselves. We must love the Lord above all things, so that He may love us also in the same way.

If we do not advance on this theme, if we don’t grow in faith, it is not good. It may be that one day we may have a greater tribulation, beyond what we have been facing, and we will not be able to be victorious with our small faith. Now, we are masters in excuses, but when we look to the Word that Jesus said, we have nowhere to hide. He said that whosever believed in Him would do the same works as He did. What is your answer to this?

It does not matter what you or someone important may say. The Lord affirmed that the Heavens and Earth would pass, but that His words would never pass. If we continue to deal with this question carelessly, we will not find solutions to what comes in our way. How will we grow if we are not living the excellence of the Kingdom of God? Will not everything that is registered in the Bible be fulfilled? I believe it will.

Paul’s plea came from the Holy Spirit. He served the Lord in his days. Nowadays, we are the ones who should serve the Most High. The way towards obedience has already been shown, and now, what will we do? We must watch the way we live our calling, and pray until the promised rain comes.

In Christ, with love,

Lord! We have deceived ourselves with half a dozen successful things, while we should advance in our manner of walking and pleasing You. Our generation and the ones to come need people that mature in their faith in Jesus.

The needy expect people to teach them, like Jesus did in His days. Those who are in sin cry out loud because they cannot leave the traps they are involved in, and what are we doing? Enough of vain philosophies and ideas.

If we are not good to serve, why have we been called? If we act like the sons of Eli, it will not be Jesus’ fault, the High Priest of our confession. If we do not listen to Him today, we will certainly be disciplined tomorrow. We must keep walking and pleasing Him.
