But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches. 1Corinthians 7.17

What hinders many people who strive to walk in faith in Christ is envy, covetousness and desire to be someone God did not call them to be. This can be seen everywhere, even in the ministry. Some people think that a pastor is blessed only if his congregation has hundreds or thousands of members. But God uses his servants as he pleases—some he prepares and puts them in a small group, entrusting them with a special mission.

We must walk as God has distributed to each one. What would the world be like if everybody was a physician? Who would build hospitals? If every citizen was a policeman, who would clean the street? And so on. God has distributed us so that we may act in the most various roles and professions in accordance with his will. It is good to know where the Creator wants you to act; so do your job as if you are doing it directly for him.

It is not easy to live without God’s direction. Those who are lost run from one side to the other, seeking victory here and there. But those who are saved do not need to run; rather, they need to trust in the Lord, striving to please him. If you know what it is that God wants you to do, do not allow the devil—the father of lies—to deceive you and make you doubt. Be aware that people who live in doubt are being deceived by the evil one.

Many children of God let themselves be fooled by Satan, because they think they are not able to follow Jesus due to the sins they committed before they knew the Lord. Therefore, they consider themselves unworthy to stand by the Savior. But Jesus knew everything about all those who were called to believe in the gospel; so there is no way your election is a mistake.

Paul, the apostle, did not want his people to have any doubts about God’s will, so wherever he went he gave the instructions that we are now studying. People who do not stand fast on that which the Scripture says may easily be removed from their position in Christ, but those who understand what it is that God has distributed to them, as well as their call, will never pay attention to the lies of the enemy.

Therefore, do not allow doubt to enter your mind. You came to the gospel only because the Father brought you to Jesus. What you felt when you heard the good news for the first time was God’s voice welcoming you into his family. Now, as a member of the body of Christ, exercise your right to live in the freedom of the children of God.
